It appears that the NEXRAD Widget on our test server and the ISU Version both have an issue under WAB 2.0.1 as it relates to loading of WMS images and popups. If a users clicks on a map feature in order to retrieve information, the popup quickly flashes on and off. If you change the refresh interval in our widget from 1 second to 10 seconds, the popup stays up for about 10 seconds and flashes off. I suspect that it must be changes in the MapManager.js or the PopupManager.js made at 2.0.1 that are causing this issue. Not really sure where to look at this point. Thanks for any assistance or guidance that can be provided.

Commenting out the function as suggested above does disable the refresh icon from displaying in the lower right corner, however, configured popups in the web map still disappear each time the WMS image in the NEXRAD Widget loads an image. Will have to study this issue a bit more . . .

We are seeing the same sort of thing on this end. It won't display the default base map or our tiled base maps. Just a fuzzing background as you've shown above. GE Pro works just fine with the same data.

We have an AGOL authored web map that includes a single tiled map service layer as one of many operational layers. There were several reasons that we decided to set it up in this manner. For many months (up until sometime in late-July we suspect) the tiled map service was visible in the Layer List widget and users could turn it on and off as needed. About 2-3 weeks ago some users of this WAB created site noted that the tiled map service layer was no longer listed in the WAB Layer List Widget. The first thing we checked was the web map and it was definitely still included and in the same order as we'd remembered. No changes had been made to the web map. We'd created this app using WAB 1.1 so for testing purposes, we tried it in the new 1.2 version that was released last week. Same behavior. The next thing we tried was seeing if it would list the layer in the Basic Viewer or the Simple Map Viewer that is available through the Share dialog on AGOL. It does list the tiled map service layer in both of those apps. Subsequently, I tried using the online version of WAB (rather than the on premise Developer Edition) and just like the Developer Edition, the tiled map layer was not listed. We can only assume that there was a change made by Esri as there were no changes to code or the web map on our end. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is there a way to configure that widget to allow for this?

After a long weekend of testing we have identified the root cause on our end. The slow performance experienced by our users appears to be the result of a “new” default keyword setting at ArcGIS 10.3. This setting forces all data in an MS SQL Server DB to be stored as a GEOMETRY data type rather than SDEBINARY. The databases on our old staging server that use SDEBINARY, responded instantaneously to panning and identifies, whereas the data on new production and staging servers had an 8-15 second lag time. We have tested this on 3 different clients located within different subnets on our WAN and the performance we once enjoyed was been restored. Essentially, each time we imported updated agency data from staging database it was converting it to a GEOMETRY data type due to the new default keyword setting at 10.3. Thus, all the feature datasets that have been updated since our ArcSDE upgrade (10.0 SP5 to 10.3) a couple months ago were impacted. This is why users we experiencing performance issues with some layers and not with others. I'm sure it is possible to "tune" an ArcSDE instance that is setup with the GEOMETRY Storage type, but if you don't know that you are using that option, it is difficult to take the appropriate actions. Never a dull moment!!

We just upgraded to SQL2012R2 with ArcSDE 10.3 and we see exactly the same performance as you outline above. We too tried all those options.

Our external IP address has a DNS name that is seen on the web, but the internal IP address is associated with the machine name which is not the same as the external DNS name. Our REST endpoint is visible on the web but all of the requests fail except the root level JSON link. When you examine the request you can see that is looking for <machine name:6080> and not the external DNS name. Now have an open incident . . .

Our new servers are setup in such a way that they have an internal IP address and an external IP address. This is done through a NAT (network address translation) setup by the firewall team. This seems to be presenting a problem as it relates to any external requests through the REST API. There may be a way to resolve this with the ArcGIS Web Adaptor but I'm not really sure. Does anyone else have this type of setup?

Thanks. That does work! However, you cannot utilize a "right" value or it breaks . . .

What if you want to move the compact map slider to the right hand side of the map? I've tried using some pixel values and percentages from the right and top but have had no luck.

Is it possible to use the Find operation for Map Services and have it return all the records? I tried some basic wildcard operators in the searchText parameter but was unable to return any results.

Thanks so much! I'll look into this in just a bit. It makes sense that you'd have to convert the point information to an extent in order for the zoom to work. That function obviously does the trick!
