Works brilliant for text etc questions. What if I want to check if a Geopoint question type has been filled in?

Hello, Just wanted to check if anyone knew how to make a question / section only appear once a question has been filled in? In this instance I don't mind what answer has been put in, only that an answer HAS been put in. I had managed to do this but have since accidentally deleted the relevant XLSForm Thanks Andy

Hello, Just wondering if there is anyway of sharing the analyze page for any surveys I have created? I am creating surveys for processes and uploading to Survey123, however the users utilizing the survey would own the process and be responsible for the analysis etc. Thanks Andy

Hello, Don't think this has been asked before but wanted to check. I was wondering if there are any plans to add functionality in to allow people to choose responses from a multi selection and then edit the output In our potential scenario, our Tree Team are carrying out surveys on our trees and listing anything of note that represents a risk. Some of that can be limited to a common response e.g. tick all items found under tree (bench, wildlife, signage etc). However for more complex descriptions they are having to use free format text boxes, even though a lot of the text will be the same for each tree as its common terminology. All they are changing each time are the specific measurements for that individual tree. Examples are shown below Canopy is overgrown by X Roots are protuding about X metres away from the tree Contractor Y will be contacted to trim back branches by X If there was the ability to select from a series of options and this to then populate a text box, they could then go in and amend as necessary. Thanks Andy

I have a map tile package I have created that we use as a basemap on our mobile devices in the Collector app. I would also like the users to use this layer on ArcGIS Online, however as it is over 1GB, it can't be added directly through My Content. Does anyone know if / how you can upload a tile package through ArcGIS Pro?

Hi Simon, To be honest I think we redesigned everything again after this post and I haven't used the related tables since, so not sure how it all worked. Thanks Andy

Hello, Just a quick question on what co-ordinate system I should be using for all our data. All our information is stored in OSGB 1936, projected to British National Grid. However I have found that to be able to use the ESRi World Geocoder in the Locate tool in ArcGIS Pro accurately, the map I'm using needs to be in WGS 1984 (projected to Web Mercator). This does cause a little bit of slowdown in the map however, presumably as all the layers are being re-projected on the fly to line up with the maps PCS. My questions are As a general rule, should I stick with using British National Grid for everything? Our data is only UK based, and currently only covers a single local authority. We use ArcGIS Online a lot, with our own custom basemap (that should also be based on British National Grid, as its taken from OS Data). Would we notice any speed increase if everything was in fact in Web Mercator? I don't know if just the overall 'structure' of ArcGIS Online is Web Mercator based and thus we would notice speed increase, even though currently everything is in the same format. Thanks for any help in advance Andy

Hi Mason, Don't know if it helps but in terms of not being able to view attachments in related tables, we have changed our related tables to feature layers for this very reason. It was important that our operatives could take pictures on the ground and that these could be viewed in the office and passed on where appropriate. To make it work we did the following: We placed a filter on the sub feature layers so they can't be seen or accessed directly from the map, and thus act like a related table. I know this probably takes up more credits etc but the ability to view attachments both in the Collector app and in ArcGIS Online was important enough for our teams We then added unique searchable fields on these hidden layers, that could be accessed from the search bar at the top. Currently, we are asking the teams to retype the Object ID into a text box. When selecting view related records from the appropriate parent feature, the hidden features still come up in the table pop up at the bottom. If you then select the appropriate layer in the search box and search for the chosen sub feature, you will be taken to its location and pop up box. From there you can view all the attachments or edit if necessary. Know it sounds long winded and in all likelihood I'm probably taking advantage of a bug more than anything but its actually relatively intuitive to work this way and means the recent Collector update can be used fully by us. Thanks Andy

Another post just to say that having played around we realized that standalone tables wouldn't work and have changed everything back to features. These still allow us to relate to a parent layer, but also means we can filter within the pop up table at the bottom and zoom to features. It also gives us a way of viewing attachments of related 'tables' which is quite handy!

Hello, Quick couple of questions for people. 1) In general have people found the IOS version of the Collector app to be more stable than Android? We seem to get a lot of issues with the Collector app across various android devices (LG G3, Sony Xperia tablet, Panasonic Toughbooks). The limited experience we have with IOS seems to indicate there are not as many issues but before I convince our IT to splash out on a test device, just wanted to get other people's views. 2) Loving the new related tables update and got some fairly indepth maps going much to the delight of our users! However one feature I do seem to be missing is the ability to copy features in these maps. Normally when selecting a feature, under the options where you can edit feature, delete etc I have the option to copy the attributes into another feature. The layers with related feature layers doesn't allow this however, I assume this is deliberate as opposed to something I missed? Thanks Andy

Hello, I have created a map that has a feature layer showing all our land ownership. Alongside this is a related table where ground operatives can fill in work they've done, which in turn an inspector can fill in their assessment of this. What we need to be able to do is filtere these related tables on ArcGIS Online, say by the type of work or quality and then zoom to the location. I recognise that the tables themselves don't have any geo data attached but I would have thought that by relating them they would pick up on the location of parent layer? Am I missing a step or just I shouldn't be using standalone tables? I wanted to move away from our current method, which was creating a brand new feature everytime they did work. As they do about 10 cuts of grass a year on around 68 hectares, this was creating a lot of duplicate data Thanks Andy

Hello, I have recently taken over the GIS functionality in our organisation and just want to check if the way we are currently using our maps is the most efficient. At present we are creating maps in ArcMap and then publishing as a service to AGOL. These maps are being used by people in the field and then we have a second map that is linked to AGOL where we can see all their edits etc. The problem is that anytime we want to make changes to the features on AGOL e.g. modify domains or add in polygons we have created, we have to reupload the whole service again and modify all the maps we have created on AGOL. I know there is an option to overwrite an existing service but this seems to crash out whenever we try and use it. Any advice on how I can improve the efficiency of this process? Thanks Andy
