I added the image to a new mxd and it came in correctly. I suspect the mxd may have gotten corrupted. Out of time for now but I will rebuild the mxd when I get a chance. Thanks very much.

All data including the map window are in the correct projection. In the extent tab for the problem image the X-extents under 'Full Extent' are completely wrong. The Y-extents are correct. There are two other images, one a NAIP image that line up perfectly.

The .tif file is on a server, so both machines point to the same file.

Thanks Gabriel. I tried that before and it didn't help. There are two other raster files in the mxd that come in perfectly. The extent for the top and bottom are correct but the left and right are completely wrong in the Full Extent setting. The visible extent is correct.

We have an mxd which contains a NAIP tif image. The image comes in to the mxd correctly on one machine, but on another machine using exactly the same mxd the image is completely in the wrong place. Has anyone encountered this before? I assume this must have something to do with the settings of ArcMap on the machine that doesn't bring the tif in at the proper location. Thanks, John

Mike, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I want the user to be able to view the PDF from a pop-up note. Where would I find information on writing code to authenticate the user, and using a token to access the PDF item. Thanks, John

We would like to do a similar thing with linked PDF documents, but only want to share them within our organization. How would I configure the URL for that scenario?

I have been having the exact same issue with this app (Tabbed Storytelling). None of the text I enter to configure the app is registered. The only thing that works is the underlying maps.

Mark, I tried to attach a .ncfg file to this post but got an invalid file type error. I was running ArcGIS Explorer in 2D. The errors as I recall were with different types of files - layer files and layer packages. Build 1200 is currently corrupted once again. The navigator is frozen. I can only zoom in and out using the mouse wheel. I did run the compatibility program and my system passed with no problem. We have IT administrators who install and uninstall software and they contend they did all the installs and uninstalls as you recommended. I've concluded the problems with ArcInfo are possibly unrelated. Thanks

I too have experienced crashes of ArcGIS Desktop on my machine and they seem to occur after ArcGIS Explorer crashes. The symptom in Desktop is that the symbol window is blank with no palette and no choices of line types. I had to reinstall Desktop after uninstalling Explorer. We will not be using Explorer in our office until we are assured of a stable release.

I have run into two serious bugs in Build 1200. The first is a problem with lines disappearing when I zoom in or out. ESRI's suggestion is to clear the cache. I can hardly expect a client to do that every time they run the program. The second is that twice now when I changed the configuration it corrupted the application completely. I could no longer use the navigation tool to zoom in and out, but could only use the mouse wheel. The only solution seems to be to uninstall and reinstall the program. I see that Build 1500 is about to be released. Instead of fancy 3D building displays I wish ESRI would simply concentrate on getting rid of any bugs.

I am experiencing the same problem as skimmer. I followed the suggestion to clear the cache. This worked the next time I opened the map file. But when I opened it the next time the layer had the same problem - it vanished when zoomed in too closely or too far out.
