Is it possible to use the pythonaddins.GPToolDialog(X,Y) as part of my python addins toolbar script to open a script tool I have stored in a custom toolbox? Where X is a string representing the location of my toolbox and Y is the name of my script tool. I can use this to open geoprocessing tools but have not been able to figure out how to open my script in the toolbox. Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Okay so this probably isn't the best fix but solved by using arcpy.Sort_management(inFeatures, outFeatures, ["PASS_NUM", "ASCENDING"]) and then removing the sorted tag before initializing the update cursor. Thanks again for the input!

Matthew, Thanks for your input. I think this code is very close to working for me. I got a chance to test it out and it throws an AttributeError: 'list' object has no attribute 'updateRow'. The line in question being cursor.updateRow(row). I will continue to play around with this and let you know if I figure anything out. Let me know if you have any ways around this. Thanks again,

Hi, I am trying to update a field "TPN" based on another field "PASS_NUM". In my script "TPN" is a newly added number field and thus blank, "PASS_NUM" is also a number field but it contains the wrong numbers. I want to assign values to "TPN" when "PASS_NUM" is no longer equal the the value in the row above it. The feature class table is sorted by "PASS_NUM". See example of table I want to achieve attached: The PASS_NUM field does not increment by 1 each time (i.e. it may skip 7) but the I want to TPN to only go up one. Is this possible using the UpdateCursor in arcpy? Or is there another way to achieve this? Thanks much!

Stuart, Thanks for your response. I have made sure that I have the correct radio button selected and still have the same results. I have a single use (Basic) license. I have attached some screen shots of what I described in my first post. Thanks again.

I just deauthorized my Arc license as I was moving to my new computer. I have installed arc on the new computer and gone through the authorization process which was "successful", however when I try to open any arc application I get a license error saying the program is not authorized. If I look in the Availability folder of ArcGIS Administrator I see that is is not authorized but when I go through the authorization process it says the license has already been successfully licensed to the machine. As a side note my Spatial Analyst extension does appear as Authorized in Administrator. Is there a wait time between deauthorizing and authorizing my license? What else could be causing this? I have tried rebooting multiple times as well as trying to send in my authorization.txt through arcGIS portal but this also returns an error not allowing me to upload the file. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Windows 7 OS, ArcGIS 10.2 Thanks
