We are opting to have an attribute of QAQC and default is 'N'. Field crews can't edit this nor even see it. Just on my end so I know what has been added. As far as data that has been updated and not added, I sort by last updated to find those edits. Typically, that is just attribution edits which isn't a big concern since majority of our attributes are set via domains.

I'm looking for ideas on workflows for using Field Maps & branch versioning. A little back story: We just upgraded to enterprise and are moving everything to branch versioning. Before our upgrade, we had several field workers making edits via collector, to AGOL hosted feature classes. I would pull their edited data and combine locally with our gdb and then republish to AGOL afterwards. I'd like for our field crews and everyone in our org. to see the latest data. However, I do not want our field crews to be editing the default feature service, which as I understand, updates the sde data as well. I would prefer to have the ability to perform some QA/QC before the live data is updated. Is there a way to insert a QA/QC level on the field crews updates? To throw a wrench in, I'd prefer to not force them to download the map in Field Maps. Reason being, they may be on the north side of the city for 30 min. and then have to go to the south side for the next 2 hrs., etc. Downloading the full city is a rather large dataset and a step that some of the guys...well, they are not the most technically saavy. So, if anyone has any workflow ideas/suggestions to allow for QA/QC to be performed on Field Maps edited data, before it hits the default dataset, I would be very much appreciative! Thanks in advance.

I believe I figured it out. Looks like when I installed 10.7 and then 10.8, the interactive selection method, by default, was set to 'select from current selection'. I changed that to 'create new selection' and voila! You can find that setting under your 'Selection' menu > 'Interactive Selection Method'. Hope this helps

I'm experiencing the same issue, but only when the results are set to 'selection'. It works when I have the results output to a drawing. But I cannot figure out how to export those results to a separate layer/shapefile.

Hello all, We have a feature service (hosted via AGOL) that our crew goes out and creates new features in. I want to be able to connect to that data in ArcMap and load that data in to our existing network via the incremental loader tool. I know the Geometric Network loader works well if I were to export the online data to a gdb, but I was hoping to skip that step and just connect directly to it. I can connect directly to the data through 'My Hosted Services" in Catalog, but it doesn't see those connection in the loader tool. Is this possible? Or do I have to continue to export the online to a gdb and download it, etc.? Thanks in advance, Jeff

What about the dynamic value table then, expressions are used here. Will any of that transfer over, or will we have to retype all of that as well? I understand this is a different functionality, I'm just curious as to the ease of converting over. Thanks

Will this new functionality "Attribute Rules" take in to account our current Dynamic Value & GenerateID tables? Or will we have to rework that information in to the new functionality? Thanks

I agree. I believe the generateid table is best for when you have multiple feature classes that you want to share an ID sequence. We are in the scenario where we have fittings, manholes, inlets, etc. that our departments want to just call S-*123, because they are all "structures", even though they are each in their own feature class. So, autonumber would not work for us. And granted there really is no maintenance per se, just the time to create the 1 record in the generateid table and add the record in the dynamic value table. Just depends which flavor you prefer. Good luck.

I'm jumping in a bit late here, but couldn't you use the 'Generate_ID' method to get the same results? That is what we use to generate our ID's for all of our features. If you want to keep your original ID's, just do a sort and find the highest number, then create a record in the GenerateID table called MasterStreetID (or whatever) and put the ID that you found above in the 'SEQCOUNTER' and interval it by 1. Then create a record in the DynamicValue table for your masterstreets_ID and use the generate_ID method. Works well for us. Below is an example from our set up. We have a field that contains our old ID's and I did exactly what I mentioned above. Then I use the generate_ID method to get the next number. We also use our map Grid (not necessarily needed for streets) in our ID so, using an expression I combine the grid w/the oldid column (which is autonumbered now) and we get our unique ID.

These are the steps that I took when I converted my data to the LGIM: All of this is done in ArcCatalog Create a new file gdb In the Xray add-in, select the local government gdb w/the schema you want. It should populate the Geodatabase filepath Create an XML from this gdb Select an existing feature class that is the correct coord. System. Note that the file path under Geodatabase changes. Verify the XML you created in step 3 is still populated in XRAY Select Options > Use Spatial Reference Select Save, to save the XML with the newly defined coord. system Select the gdb you created in step 1 Select export XML to gdb Once you have this, you have a blank local government schema gdb and you can import your data in to it. If you need help with this, go here. Good luck

Good morning all, We currently host all of our feature services on AGOL. This will be the first time that I have pulled the data off of AGOL and back in to ArcGIS Desktop. I'm looking for workflow ideas to get the data off of the fgdb (created from AGOL) and merged back in to my original dataset. The field crew has gone out and updated a lot of attributes and I want to bring those over. I don't want to do anything with the geometry as I have moved several. All I want is the attribution as well as attachments/pictures they assigned. Anyone have any workflow ideas they are willing to share? I'd like to eventually automate the process if at all possible. The only way I can think of off the top of my head is to create a join (using Facility ID) and do a field calc., but didn't know if anyone had any other ideas. Our data is in the LGIM schema, but for now I'm focusing on Waste Water. But I have other utilities waiting once I get this one finished. Thanks in advance, Jeff

Andrea, We are also seeing issues with our WebApps. The data loads so slow, if at all. The only way to get it to load quickly is to zoom extremely far in and then zoom back out. But that is not something a regular consumer is going to know/do. We use AGOL to host all of our data as well as used AGOL's WebApp Builder to build the webapp. I'm not sure as to why the data loads so slowly in the app, when I can open the Online map (same exact data) and it loads quickly. We have incredibly fast and reliable internet here, so I know there are no speed/connection issues with that. I'm debating getting rid of the webapp and going back to just using the online map.
