@JCan gave you a good python based away to check if something was up or down, but if you wanted to use Zabbix or Solarwinds for example, you could check here... https://portal.yourportaladaptor.com/portal/portaladmin/healthCheck Check for "portal is ready" in the body. and for your hosting servers.... https://host.yourhostadaptor.com/webadaptorname/rest/info/healthCheck check for "success":true in the body if you disabled the gui. If not, you'll see something different.

Kind of... I generally monitor the health of Portal or Server through the REST api. I have a condition on my monitoring that if it does not get a response and/or returns something other than: portal is ready or "success":true That it starts dropping me alerts to investigate.

Gosh, I wish they would do that with ArcGIS Server too. v11.1 has an issue w/ licensing that needs to be patched if you are working in a secure environment.

In case anyone needs it, here is a user management script that can be extended to give you near SCIM capabilities. It's not perfect, but it was the solution I came up with to deal with the user issue. https://github.com/wagisdev/AGOLPortalUserManagement

Happy Friday everyone, Is anyone else running into an issue when a user, while using the new map viewer, clicks on the button for styles on a layer and runs into an error? It specifically manifests as.... Nothing showing up in the styles menu and in the developer window showing a bunch of 404 errors for pieChart.js and flow.js. Infrastructure is Server 2019 w/ v10.9.1 with all current patches in place. Issue presented itself ~ yesterday evening time PST. Servers have been rebooted, etc. Firewalls were checked and nothing is getting caught there either. The issue is presenting itself in both Edge and Chrome too.

Hi there folks.... Coming from the 10.9.1 world where editing the config file allowed me to have a nice customer footer w/ links. Has anyone figured out a way to replicate it with 11.1? Trying to figure out how I can get the same footerLinks I had in 10.9.1 config.js footerLinks: [{ title: "City of Something", url: "https://www.Something.gov" },{ title: "Something Public GIS Portal", url: "https://www.Something.gov" },{ title: "GIS Support Contact", email: "gisinfo@something.gov", type: "contactUs" },{ title: "Portal Support Contact", email: "gisdba@something.gov", type: "contactUs" }], Into the new format that runs through the process described here: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/users-groups-and-items/update-organization-settings.htm Appreciate you all sharing your well tread territory information on this, for those that are in 11.0/1 currently.

Anyone else finding the new Esri support lacking in functionality? I get wanting to having a modern look and feel, but it really feels like basic functionality is missing. For example, as of yesterday, there is a 2023 patch for Portal (10.9.1). Can you find it in the Portal patches? Nope. How do I know it exists? It is showing up in the Enterprise Patch Notification app. My particular favorite thing is, I can find it on the mobile app. On the mobile app, the patches are under downloads w/o any listing for patches, etc. On the website though, downloads takes you to a entirely different area. Consistency would be nice.

Good morning Josh, I was able to dig into this further, examining the payloads going up, etc.... The difference between the classic viewer, Portal (10.9.1) viewer, and ArcGIS Online's viewer is that the new viewer is adding "returnServiceEditsOption=originalAndCurrentFeatures" to the string that pushes the edits. For ArcMap published services....no issue. For ArcGIS Pro published services, its an automatic fail w/ the code... "error":"code":500,"extendedCode":-2147467259,"message":"Unable to complete operation.","details":["Error: Combination of parameters rollbackOnFailure = false & returnServiceEditsOption = originalAndCurrentFeatures for applyEdits operation is not supported."] The classic viewer does not have it, nor Portal, so I am assuming it was the recent updates to the viewer which causing the issues. WRT using Instant Apps, I have not tried that route yet, but passed it over to the analyst who is experiencing the issue. For the time being, they are working around the issue using Field Maps. I offered to pull this into Portal for them, but there is some hesitancy there for the moment. Fun stuff. Hope no one else is experiencing this issue.

All good thoughts here. Yes, that was done and the calls are different. What's odd is that the viewer is doing something dissimilar to classic or Field Maps.
