@JonathanMcDowell1 You should be able to use the Intersect() to get the field values you need without using Offset(). Code might not be what you're looking for but how you would roughly do it. var bufferFeature = Buffer($feature,-10)//of some number
var fcIntersect = Intersects(FeatureSetByName($datastore, ["featureToIntersect"], ["fieldValue1","fieldValue2"], false), bufferFeature)
if (IsEmpty(fcIntersect)){
return;
}
if (Count(fcIntersect) >= 1) {
var select = first(fcIntersect)
return {
"result": {
"attributes": {
"field1": select.fieldValue1,
"field2": select.fieldValue2
}
}
}
}

@JonathanMcDowell1 is the 31E33 polygon a curved or "moon" shaped feature such as below. When getting geometry of the centroid it is actually outside the feature. I have run into this issue before and the solution was to create a negative buffer object with the Buffer() function then use that object as the innerGeometry for the Within() function. Note: I noticed in your first comments you had within( querylayer ,centroid($feature)), this is reversed how you want it. The syntax for within is Within(innerGeometry, outerGeometry). In your case, would the innerGeometry want to be the centroid($feature) and the outerGeometry be the querylayer? within( centroid($feature),querylayer).

Tyler - if in ArcPro using the arcgis module look into the Version operation in he submodules arcgis.features.managers it has the option to start a edit session. There are also other various editing module here as well. You can modify your current script to open an edit session (arcpy). Something like: arcpy.env.workspace = workspace #start an edit session edit = arcpy.da.Editor(workspace) # Edit session is started without an undo/redo stack for versioned data # (for second argument, use False for unversioned data): startEditing ({with_undo}, {multiuser_mode}) edit.startEditing(True, True) print ("start an edit session") # Start an edit operation edit.startOperation()

Adam, Correct in your assumption regarding checking the recs for the service pack. I see that you have opened a case with Esri Technical Support. I will defer to them for the time being. If a resolution is found please post that resolution so the community can benefit from your knowledge regarding this issue. - Jake

So the best way to do this is: 1. Create a buffer around the points. Within the buffer use Dissolve Type : All to create a single feature. 2. Use the Minimum Bounding Geometry to create a boundary shapefile extent of your points. Make sure Geometry Type is ENVELOPE. 3. Then use Erase. Make sure to use in feature would be the buffer feature and the erase feature is the boundary shapefile. This output would be the areas you want. BE AWARE - some of the features may be outside the extent you want. You can use the Multipart to Single part to create individual features in the feature class. then delete the parts you do not wish to include. Hope this helps - Jake

Mike, good question. So this would depend on how you are consuming the points feature class. Are you doing this in ArcMap/ArcCatalog/ArcGIS Pro, in a service via rest, or though a RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, etc)? - Jake

Jill, great questions. To be able to seamlessly provide your WebApp with updated data you would need to provide at minimum read privileges to ArcGIS Server when registering data directories. This is outlined here Register your data with ArcGIS Server using ArcGIS Desktop—Documentation | ArcGIS Enterprise. Is there a reason for not being able to provide permissions to the server? If you are able to use a RDBMS you can add that table to the RDBMS register that to the server and make edits with that connection in ArcMap/Catalog. Esri offers a SQl Server EXPRESS version for free. There are size and user limitations but this may be an option. Set up a database server—Database Server (Desktop) installation guide | ArcGIS Desktop. This is a lengthy conversation. I would contact Esri Technical Support and speak with a technical analyst. Hope this helps. - Jake

Jimmy great question. You would use the select function on the multiple choice question row, then modify the appearance value to spinner. This is outlined in the following GeoNet posts. With out looking at the data you would need another iterator (which is not permitted in the same model) to capture the names of the shapefiles using in-line variables then use a field calculator to populate a field for the country name. I have spend some time working on your issue with my own sample data yet have been unable to successfully utilize model builder with a single iterator. If you do this process over and over I would say the best way is to run your created model then utilize another model that iterated the 39 shapefiles to append a feature. In my test case I have a folder workspace names States which holds all my states shapefiles. The Iterator goes through each feature class adds an Area (float) field and calculates the area. Then adds a State_Name (text) field (you could use countries) which the Field Calculator uses the Iterator's Name object to use inline variables to take the shapefiles name and insert it into the State_Name field with with Field Calculator. You could do all of this in your model. To reiterate, this part of the tool would basically create a new field in each of your 39 country features and put the name of that feature in the field. Model 1: Field Calculator (Insert State Name) for adding shapefile name into new field using the Iterator and in-line variables: I created a new feature (State_Schema) as a template with the fields I wanted. I will use the Append tool to append that blank feature with all the values from all the state shapefiles. In a second model, created because I need an additional Iterator, I go through that same folder of State shapefiles using an iterator to Append the State_Schema then used the Table to Excel tool to export. Model 2: If you have questions, reach out.

Manish, At this point it is beyond my knowledge and scope. Due to the fact that Visual Studio is a third party software (from the perspective of Esri) I would recommend reaching out to Microsoft regarding the loading of python modules and their functionalities. You can contact them here Visual Studio IDE, Code Editor, VSTS, & App Center - Visual Studio .
