Hi, I am looking for help on one of the requirement related to spatial adjustment in a automated manner. Scenario and problem statement is as below- Scenario: We have a set of around 55,000 non geo-referenced shape files of land records, converted from CAD drawings. Each shape file contains around 1000 parcels. In a parallel exercise these shape files were geo-referenced using the help of satellite images and control points. Due to continue updation in original shape file some parcels were split or merged. One of the important point here is we cannot update the original shape file by geo-referenced shape file due to distortion in shape of parcels which is important due to legal aspects. Problem Statement: Now, we want to update the geo-referenced shape file by taking updates from updated shape files. If we do the exercise manually through spatial adjustment then a lot of time and efforts would required, also we have to do the same exercise in a fix interval (once in a month). Our Idea: Around 50% parcels are not changed and have equal number of vertices in both the shape files. As per minimum requirement if we selects 3-4 vertices to create the link then we can do the spatial adjustment using Affine Transformation. We can easily extract co-ordinate values of vertices programmatically from both the shape files for matching parcels. As we know the transformed co-ordinates can be obtained from following formula- x’ = Ax + By + C y’ = Dx + Ey + F We have x & y but how can we get the values of A,B, C, D , E & F.

Thanks Jayanta for reply. The desired info is as - 1. The server is configured for intranet use and I'd used server name. The web adapter is configured successfully (Snapshot attached). 2. Sing-on page is opening properly without any issue. We are facing issue after sign-on; After giving correct userid/pwd portal sign-on page goes off. 3. The server has Windows Server 2008 R2.

Hello, I'd installed the Portal for ArcGIS 10.3.1 successfully on my intranet server. The webadapter is also configured and portal home page is opening from URL (https://servername/arcgis/home/). But when any user is trying to sing-in to the portal the sign in screen goes blank after supplying user id & pwd and nothing happens. I'd created two more users additional to portal admin but not succeeded. Any help on this issue ?

Thanks Denise, Very useful information posted by you. Regards Indra Bisen Hello Indra, Microsoft has not stopped supporting the Windows Mobile OS although likely to be service pack updates only. Earlier this year, Microsoft released the Windows Embedded Handheld OS, a high performance OS platform optimized for enterprise handheld devices (runs on many of devices previously running Windows Mobile OS). Windows Embedded Handheld addresses the broad needs of Enterprises in many segments, including field mobility, transportation and logistics, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing and has Microsoft commitment for 10-year support program plus product availability of 15 years (see attached PDF). ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.1 (formerly named ArcGIS Mobile 10x) is supported on both Windows and Windows Mobile OS devices. ArcGIS for Windows Mobile - Mobile App runs on Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.1, 6.5 and Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5x OS; ArcGIS for Windows Mobile - Windows App and Mobile Project Center runs on Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, and Windows 7 OS. Windows 8 is Microsoft's new unified OS that works on tablets, traditional PCs and laptops and has twin versions, Windows 8 and Windows RT. Windows 8 is considered next iteration of Windows 7 OS with a new runtime environment, WinRT for Metro Apps. The full version of Windows 8 will be available on Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro devices; powered by Intel chips; can run legacy Windows programs already being used by you (including ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 3.1). Windows 8 RT is similar to Windows Phone 7 OS. Windows 8 RT runs on ARM-based tablets & PCs and Windows 8 smartphones; is not compatible with older Windows software; works exclusively with Apps available in the Windows Store (see ArcGIS for Smartphone/Tablet Apps for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone OS devices). Esri plans to have the ArcGIS for Windows Store App available at time of Windows 8 publicly available release for Windows 8 RT devices. I hope this helps, Denise

Hi, You can do it as following - map1.Scale = 1000; map1.Scale = 5000; . . and so on. Indra Bisen I have a button for ZoomIn and ZoomOut in Windows Mobile app. I want the user to be able to Zoom In/Out to 10 different levels defined (like in arcMap there is 1:1,000,1:5,000). Should I be using map1.Scale(SizeF factor); ? Any code samples would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Hi, If I understand properly that basically you want to use some you own/free base maps in mobile device in disconnected mode. For this purpose you want to add it in mobile cache like vector data then - YES! you can do it. But the way is little different. However, I'd not tried it with in-build ArcGIS Mobile Application but I'd successfully done it with ArcGIS Mobile SDK. To do this you have to create tiles cache either through "Create Map Server Cache" under Server Tools or through Caching tab in Map Service Publishing Dialogue box. Once the tiles cache create then you have to manually copy it to device and use ESRI.ArcGIS.Mobile.DataProducts.RasterData.TileCacheMapLayer to add tile map cache to the map as base map. Hi, I had similar kind of issue but with Windows Forms application. Right now I'm unable to remember exact DLL name (may be pe.dll) but you can try to add DLLs available in C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Mobile10.0\Bin folder. regards Indra Bisne

Dear Vijay , Regarding your 1st question to convert in other formats: There is no other formats those are supported by ArcGIS mobile. However, you can export the data directly from your source feature class (from which the mobile cache was built) in more than 75 of other formats (requires Interoperability extension, some of the formats comes without extension also) including the MS SQL Spatial , Oracle Spatial or GML. For more details see (http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/extensions/datainteroperability/common-questions) 2nd Que: You can open .db file in any other application and you can read/update the attribute data but you can not read spatial feature as it is stored as a binary format. Also, the schema is not stored in db file so you cannot identify layer by tables name. But as it may be a case of reverse engineering so read license agreement carefully before trying it in real applications. Regards, indra bisen

Dear David, As mentioned by Ciprian Lazar both the things are possible very well with ArcGIS Mobile but you have to develop the custom application using ArcGIS Mobile SDK or have to customize the ArcGIS Mobile application provided by ESRI. Their is no out of the box facility is available with ArcGIS Mobile application for your issues. regards indra bisen

Hi, try with changing FromGPS to FromWGS84() as following code because by default GPS returns data in WGS84 datum. Coordinate coordinate = new Coordinate(); coordinate = mobileCache1.SpatialReference.FromWgs84(mGpsConn.Longitude,mGpsConn.Latitude); txtLat.Text = coordinate.Y txtLong.Text = coordinate.X regards Indra Bisen

Dear Steve, If you call mobilecache1.isEmpty() function after opening the mobilecache then it will return false. MobileCache.Open method works with empty data also. The code should be like this - if (mobilecache1.IsValid) { mobilecache1.open(); if(mobilecache1.IsEmpty()) { // code to synchronize (download) mobile cache data } // } regards Indra Bisen
