The first thing I recommend is creating groups for admin and management. Then department groups. For the content the Configure Categories has been extremely helpful in sorting out content that I want to quickly find. Categories are a little bit of work upfront but in day to day operations it will make a world of difference. The folders may ever give you the "nested" feel of the file explorer but with the filters the Tags feature should be able to clear it up. If you need even more refined organization you could make custom roles or users for the groups. Organize for each department to have a folder, group, category and tag. Categories can even have subcategories which might be the feature you have been missing in the folders constrained organization. Folders > Groups > Categories> Subcategories > Tags > Sharing > Custom Member Roles The model being suggested is to use all the available tools to organize your members. I recommend giving some agency to departments to manage their own groups and to train a 'super user' in those departments to aid in the content management. Hopefully this is a start for getting the AGOL into the shape you desire.

We have changed the Idp for our SAML configuration. The samlcert is present in the portaladmin site under SSLCertificates and shows it is valid from a date (a year ago when we first configured SAML) well before this SAML change. The SAML log in is working for people internal to our organization's network, but not external. Could this be due to our SAMLcert not being updated? Do I need to delete the SAMLcert and re-create it? If so, which certificate is supposed to be imported? Any insight is appreciated.

Does the Idp have to create an attribute "NameID" and must the format of that attribute be "NameID" exactly or would "Name_ID" work? I am receiving an error when configuring SAML with GEOAxIS saying : Unable to retrieve from Idp "Name_ID" Does GEOAxIS need to change the attribute on their end to work with the Portal?

I eventually broke down and opened a support ticket for my issue and when I finally received a phone call from the person on the case, a new release had come out. They kindly asked me my version and to my surprise there was a newer release. The only thing I hadn't tried was wait for a new release to fix the issue. Solution was to install the latest release that addresses the bug (?) . The same license authorization file generated for 2023.3 worked 2023.3.1 . The whole reinstall only took a couple minutes at best. ArcGIS Monitor 2023.3 version is currently being used There is a newer version that was released at the end of January (2023.3.1) ArcGIS Monitor 2023.3 Release Notes (esri.com) The support was good with a lot of case updates and the scheduling was just difficult as priorities higher for other tasks. Looking forward to seeing the attendees at the FedGIS conference to ask those questions.

Cannot get the ArcGIS Monitor 2023 to connect to the PostgreSQL datbase in the setup Monitor step. Any suggestions are welcome. Steps to tried to connect ArcGIS Monitor 2023 to PostgreSQL database: 1. Updated the pg_hba.conf File Updated the pg_hba.conf file on your PostgreSQL server to allow connections from your ArcGIS client machines. Ran the pg_ctl reload and restarted the postgresql service. 2. Attempted Connection via Web Browsers on and off the hosting server Tried connecting to the database using both Firefox and Chrome browsers on the server where the database instance is locally hosted. This was to test if the issue was with the database server or the client machine. 3. Tested Connection from Desktop Was able to connect to the database from your desktop using ArcGIS Pro. This suggests that the issue is not with the database itself, but possibly with the connection between the ArcGIS Monitor and the database. 4. Encountered Connection Pool Error Received an error message stating Authentication or address for database failed "Knex: Timeout acquiring a connection. The pool is probably full. Are you missing a .transacting(trx) call?" This suggests that all connections in the pool are being used and none are currently available. Tried various “hostname:port” configurations.

Fast forward to 2023. Does this principle still ring true? Has the enterprise mosaic dataset technology not added any additional value versus a file geodatabase mosaic? We are currently using file geodatabase mosaic datasets and occasionally get an error saying denied access when trying to add new data. Does the mosaic dataset behave like a feature class would, meaning one could not edit or change the mosaic if more than one person was accessing the mosaic dataset?

Does webGISdr need to be run on each federated server of a multi machine deployment? I have an Image server in addition to the machine with ArcGIS Server and Portal. Must a sepperate run of the webGISdr tool be run on each machine or is the tool backing up all services being shared on Portal?
