Integration of docSTAR's Enterprise Content Management Solution and GIS Tools Enable Secure Access to Map Data and Documents From Any Device and Any Location
SCHENECTADY, NY, Jul 17, 2014 -- docSTAR(TM), an award-winning developer of cloud and on-premises enterprise content management (ECM) software and GEO-Jobe GIS Consulting, an Esri® Business Partner, announced today the creation of the eclipse for ArcGIS platform. eclipse for ArcGIS combines Geographic Information System (GIS) data and ECM by providing a centralized location for government organizations and commercial businesses to easily access and update specific GIS map data and related documents from any device. eclipse for ArcGIS will allow access to Esri's ArcGIS for Server (version 10.2 compatible) via the docSTAR eclipse platform deployed on-premises or in the cloud.
"eclipse for ArcGIS is a groundbreaking, powerful application," said Jeff Frankel, Vice President and Principal for docSTAR. "With our on-premises and subscription-based service, we've bundled functionality of the ArcGIS platform and docSTAR eclipse, creating a lower cost entry point for those entities wishing to invest in GIS technology." Frankel continued, "The eclipse for ArcGIS application leverages GEO-Jobe's GEOpowered Cloud Environment and Esri's ArcGIS for Server which means that end users aren't required to purchase ArcGIS for Server to geo-link and retrieve documents."
Seamlessly integrated with Esri's ArcGIS for Server, eclipse for ArcGIS utilizes GIS functionality that can help businesses as well as local, state and Federal agencies compile and share detailed information like topographic, population, soil, climate and business-related documents and statistics across their organization for specific research and operational goals. Data stored or hyperlinked via a geo-database provides real-time intuitive, actionable information in a map format. Users can easily locate and display GIS maps, granular data and documents simultaneously through the docSTAR eclipse portal.
"We've combined the power of the ArcGIS platform with the robust functionality of docSTAR eclipse to provide a geographic perspective to enterprise content management users. For example, users can now search for relative documents based on their current location," explains Neill Jobe, SR. VP with GEO-Jobe GIS.
Dynamic searches by map features, title, keyword or text ensure fast and reliable data retrieval that can then be viewed within docSTAR eclipse or on the map itself. eclipse for ArcGIS will also feature functionality for searching documents by selecting a specific area on a map or within a location. For example, an emergency response team may want to search all assets and related documents within 5,000 feet of a disaster area. When an area on a map is selected, all documents geo-linked to that area are retrieved providing real-time insight into the infrastructure of the area selected.
