We just recently found out that it seems to be related to security features in our business environment. Our IT department uses "Cisco AMP" als malware protection. Temporarily deactivating this application solved the issue so far. Before that, we used a workaround using batch files to check the error code and running the script again if it failed. Source: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-api-for-python-questions/error-code-246-when-attempting-to-import-arcgis/m-p/1096014/highlight/true#M6598 Hope this helps!

I just had a ticket with ESRI regarding this issue. I have the problem even if using pythonw.exe or the scheduling using ArcGIS Pro. Their response was: No support, since a Windows tool ist concerned. My objection, that ArcGIS Pro uses this tool didn't change their optinion. I have to add, that this was a ticket not directly with ESRI Inc. but with "ESRI Deutschland". They were stilll trying to be helpful, which is why I've sent them a small test-script which they were able to run with no problems in ArcGIS Pro and Windows Task Scheduler. There was sadly nothing more they could do.

Might be different, because the config-file seems to be only available with asynchronous GP-services.

Yes, I saw that. But it looks like this file is only available when the service is run asynchronous. I also would need the jobID and I currently have no idea of how to get it within python.

Hi there, we are running several GP-services on ArcGIS Server, authentication is web-tier based on our companys Active Directory. I try to get the script to be aware of who started the service request (similar to editor tracking on feature classes). I found these two posts, where the conclusion is, that it's not easily possible: https://community.esri.com/t5/python-questions/username-of-geoprocessing-service-user/td-p/491209 https://community.esri.com/t5/python-questions/is-there-any-way-to-get-the-username-of-user-logged-into-arcgis/m-p/113388 Anything new on this topic or anyone else having the same problem? Can't be that hard for ESRI to implement, without me having to use SOIs, which I have no clue of. Thanks and Best regards - Florian

Hejhej Joe, thanks for your "out of the box"-answer. We definitely are looking forward for this. However, currently we are not yet using ArcGIS Pro and we have thousands of lines of SQL-code used in triggers, that we can't immediately transfer to attribute rules. I even doubt, that all features are possible with attribute rules. Best regards - Florian

Hi there, we are having some issues, possibly related to relationship classes. We use Feature Services to edit Features using WebGIS (JS API). There is one Service containing a layer based on a feature class (point features), which is in a relationship class with another feature class (polygon). It is a composite 1-M relationship, that moves the polygons, whenever the point is moved. Important to mention: The feature class is located in an enterprise GDB, based on SQL Server. We also use SQL-Triggers to automate some tasks. That normally works fine. However, under some circumstances, the edit fails (service-response: error 500, "Unable to perform applyEdits operation."). This seems to be the case if the SQL-Trigger and the relationship class both try to edit the related features. BUT: If we do the same edit in ArcMap using a direct GDB-Connection, there is no problem. There is also no problem if the SQL-Trigger is disabled. Only the combination triggered via a Feature Service seems to produce some kind of conflict. I read (Prepare data to publish a feature service—ArcGIS Server | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise) that the related layer has to be part of the service. However, it only says "table", not "feature class". I still tried this and, surprise, it didn't help. Any ideas on that?

Okay, so the documentation on toolsets in ArcMap (e.g. https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.7/tools/conversion-toolbox/table-to-excel.htm) is valid for ArcGIS Server as well? Will ArcGIS Server get Python 3 support as well and where can I find information about that?

Hi there, I'm a little confused. I thought, that arcpy has the same functionality, no matter where it is used - except from differences due to licensing-levels (Basic/Standard/Advanced). I just found out, that the arcpy-function "TableToExcel_conversion" does not support exporting to xlsx, only xls on our ArcGIS Server. Searching for this in the documentation, I found out, that in ArcMap, only xls is supported, but with ArcGIS Pro, xlsx as well. But what about ArcGIS Enterprise? I run a geoprocessing service on our ArcGIS Server (10.7). Any ideas? I feel like I'm having a mental blank ...

Indeed, that is what I experience on one monitor, when I reset my Windows-scaling options. Since I use two different sized monitors, there are always these gaps on one monitor. That is why I assumed it had something to do with Windows' scaling - in general and for different screen sizes. You should be able to reproduce that by setting the Windows scaling option. Here is a tutorial on how to do that, please refer to the part "How to change display scaling settings using custom values", at least thats how I did it: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-set-custom-display-scaling-setting-windows-10

We are still using JS API 3.x and encountered this problem (gaps between the tiles of Basemaps), only when using Chrome: It seems to have something to do with the scaling-parameters in Windows. Any ideas on how to solve this? It is also present in the ESRI-Sample (Basemap gallery), however not as pronounced. We are about to migrate to JS API 4.x, but would love to resolve this issue quickly. Thanks! - Florian

The old ST_Raster (until 10.5) had the possibility to access the raster data directly using SQL-Queries (https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.5/manage-data/using-sql-with-gdbs/a-quick-tour-of-sql-functions-used-with-st-raster.htm). Is there a similar way when working with the new RASTERBLOB data type? My reason for asking: We would like to automate raster-analysis (exraction of single pixel values and calculation of zonal statistics) using SQL Triggers. Using Enterprise Geodatabase on MS SQL Server.

We are still struggeling with this. Our Feature-Services cannot be imported to AutoCAD. An Error-Message points to "Failed to construct instance of service XXX. Layer(s) or table(s) are not configured for Sync." The Layers are shown but seem to be empty in AutoCAD. Are there any new requirements for ArcGIS-Services when using with the Plugin? Do I need Sync-Functionality and GlobalID to be activated? Thanks, - Florian
