Hello again, That is just crazy. I was always told that only file geodatabases were the only format that the GPS software worked with. I will look into it if I find out any different I will let you know. Hello James. Welcome to the GPS world. You are right to say that it doesn't work. The reason is that the technology only allows file geodatabases at this point in the game. However, I anticipate that it will change and add other data types. It may be a memory issue, depending on the amount of GPS points or lines features you may have collected. I never seen this happen before. However, I have moved to ArcGIS Mobile for Windows 7 running on a YUMA 2 tablet PC with 64GB of memory, without POSITIONS because I have activated the NMEA on the TRIMBLE PROXRT hard cabled to the YUMA 2 tablet. AWESOME setup. I hope that you or ESRI can figure it out. Do you have technical support. If not, I can you my support contract to ask this question and see if they (ESRI gurus) to help in this matter. Hello Joseph, I am impressed with your keen usage of ArcGIS Mobile. You are on the right path. My question on the ArcGIS Mobile for Windows Mobile and Windows 7 running on your GEOXH and Yuma tablet: I assume you have activated the NMEA, because without that you will not be able to get a position on your AG Mobile screen. Have you done that? Just thought I would ask. Anyways back to your problem. Just from you told me it has to be the customized extension. AG mobile is finicky with other programs. What I would do is migrate those forms to Domains and Subtypes. If you are not comfortable in generating these non-programming forms. I can assist in developing them without any cost. It is very simple. Send me a screen shot of your form and I can show you how to develop that same form that will run natively in AG mobile. Ok. Now I have more information to work. I can understand your frustrations. I ran into something similar but that was just working with one project. I know when you switch projects or rename projects it (positions) seems to be fussy. I am a little confused when you mention ArcGIS Mobile. Are you running Arcpad with positions? I am running ArcGIS Mobile 10.1 for Windows Mobile running on a GeoXT that has run fine without any problems. I am also running ArcGIS Mobile 10.2.1 for Windows 7 running on a Yuma 2 Tablet PC running Windows 7 where the interface looks different from the AG Mobile for Windows Mobile. What kind of data are you collecting (for example points, lines and poly lines)? And, are you using domains and subtypes? Joseph, Sorry to hear to that you had frustrations using Trimble positions. I have had good experiences with this software but now have moved on to ArcGIS Mobile for Windows 7 running on Trimble Yuma 2 Tablet PC. I am curious what exactly what you having problems with. I know Allison Walker and she is very knowledgeable. I took some Trimble classes from her and she was a wonderful instructor. I am now running ArcGIS Mobile for Windows 7 on a YUMA 2 Tablet PC. Awesome! More space more speed than the Geo's. Good bye handhelds I am now fully satisfied and sold on with the ruggedized YUMA 2 tablets. By the way, the tablet pc is connected via hardwire a Trimble ProXRT with NMEA output. Again Awesome. Hello, Can you share with me the complexity of your data collection? The reason I ask is I have collected a vast amount of GPS data along with creating attribute tables in ArcCatalog by subtypes and domains. I have helped people having problems with data collection and might be able to help you. I am excited for you and know that this program is capable of doing what you need to do. In kind spirit, DIGGY

Hello everyone, To answer your question. Yes AGWM in the early versions was capable of GPS averaging, but the programmers took it out. For what reason I do not know. Personally, I would like to have both options available for the user to choose. Anyway, I am using 10.2 and still there is no capability for averaging GPS points only to collect one point. For me, I am using Precise Point Positioning to collect myreal-time corrected GPS data at 10cm instead of getting my corrections from WAAS or Beacon (CORS.) I use a YUMA 2 tablet that blue-tooth communicates with my GPS receiver in a back pack.
