I have a large-scale public facing complex Hub hosting mainly dashboard content that is being continually updated. Are there any suggested workflows that cover change management and backups of the Hub, apart from taking clones and copying everything? The current setup is to run a duplicate (cloned) Hub with corresponding content on a totally separate AGOL environment. While this offers a pre-production and secure live environment, with the volume of content we have, the workflow is cumbersome and I wanted to reach out to see what other approaches are out there. Can the new beta-assistant offer me any additional support here? I haven't found much documentation with regard to its capabilities and Hub. Can I use this to take regular json copies of the Hub without cloning the entire site? Interested to hear what approaches others are taking. Many thanks in advance!

I want to use the Limit Usage feature for a FS running on a dashboard which in turn is hosted in a Hub. I want the content of the FS to be publicly visible via the Dashboard/Hub but I don’t want the underlying FS to be exposed. Using the described workflow below I have the configuration working properly. I have managed to apply the workflow and limit access to the FS while running in a standalone Dashboard and also in a standalone Web App. When I try to view the same dashboard embedded in a Hub page, I am prompted for credentials. I have added all of the relevant urls added to the FS (I think), so I wonder am I missing a step, or is this feature not supported in Hub? Workflow https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000017029 Any pointers on this I would be very grateful.

Robert, Sincere apologies for badgering you all day on this. I have it running now on 2.10 but the move layers function is still throwing an error. It appears to be tripping on some of the custom code that I have found to work on earlier versions as well as 2.12/3.

Robert, I successfully integrated that code to version 2.12. When testing in the live environment I noticed from the web console that the layer list is actually running on 2.10. Slightly frazzled by unfamiliar code at this stage which isn't helping!

No, I'm not able to access the layer options. I've tried copying your code snippets across to the 2.12 version but no success. The 2.13 layer list isn't compatible with my 2,12 app either unfortunately.

That did the trick!!! Yes, working nicely on the 2.13 app. Do you think I'll be able to replicate those code changes back to 2.12 or were there wholesale changes to that widget? Really appreciate your help on this. Thanks, Eoghan

Just to elaborate on that a little further. Looking at the test module that I have set up. If the "Description" feild of the REST service is blank, a (blank) pop up loads. Where there is content in the Description field, the Description option in the layer list becomes grayed out. Thanks, Eoghan

Nothing that I can see bar a few font errors. Strangely, it worked once for a single layer. I've set up a test module to try and configure it. ArcGIS Web Application

Many thanks for the speedy response Robert, I am tied to version 2.12 at the moment as the environment the app is sitting on has just undergone a penetration test so I can't rebuild in a different version. I did a test of what you sent in version 2.13 though, and it didn't work as expected. Upon clicking on the layer options to access the description, I am just getting a load spinning icon and no pop up - see below. Note, I have group layers in place here and they might be affecting things as I am getting a popup if I click on the group layer name. Thanks again, Eoghan

Hi Robert Scheitlin, GISP, You provided this great bit of code for me a number of years ago (attached above, under correct answer - PopupMenuInfo.zip) and it has been vital for one of our applications since. On clicking "Description" in the layer list it loads a popup that shows the description and copyright in a message dialog instead of the rest endpoint for that layer. We have since updated our version of WAB Developer Edition (2.12) and since this update the "Move Layers" (up/down) functionality is unresponsive in the Layer List when we are using the revised code you produced. Would you know off hand what might be causing this in the code? Many Thanks, Eoghan

Thanks for the above Robert. Based on this I developed a very simple off panel widget to house the image. Works a treat and adapts with the mobile layout when required.

Could I add a question to this thread? I am looking to add a branding logo to the map window in the same way a static legend might work. When the view adapts to smartphone/tablet view would the static image not cause interference? I was thinking of trying to develop an off panel widget to simply host a png and automatically open. I've yet to figure out how but does that approach sound reasonable? Thanks, Eoghan
