Aaron, Is there a release/support timeline or github repo that I can monitor to check for the upcoming release?

Aaron, My virtualenv is not managed by conda. I've been using pip (i.e pip install arcgis, which gets me to 1.8.2 stable). Is there a pre-release available in pypi? Or do I have to use conda?

I am trying to connect to a "new" (not classic) Workforce project using the Python API. I am encountering an error (see below). This code works for "classic" projects, and I've seen examples of this working for new projects. I've reproduced this error using version 1.8.0.post1 and 1.8.2 locally and 1.8.1 within AGO notebook. Help appreciated.

The code you provided works with classic Workforce. However, I am encountering the following error when creating a new Workforce project and trying to connect. I've tested using Python API 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.8.2 locally and also in AGO Notebook (which uses 1.8.1). Any help would be appreciated, as we are trying to migrate off of classic.

Well, I figured it out. When I was federating server with portal I used the machine name instead of the machine name with the fully qualified domain name (FQDN). For example I put vmname:6443/arcgis instead of vmname.domainname.com:6443/arcgis. This caused portal to look for a certificate for "vmname". Instead, the certificate comes back from server with the vmname.domainname.com name, so they don't match, and an error ensues. Hope this helps someone out there!

This is a fresh install of Enterprise, the error occurs when trying to add items. I've tried a csv and a zipped shapefile so far. Process is outlined below. [windows server 2012 R2 in Azure vm, all components on the same machine]. Screenshot of the error attached. My guess is that using a self-signed cert for IIS 443 may be causing these issues. Install Portal Install Web Adaptor in IIS, self signed cert binded to IIS site, configured with Portal Install ArcGIS Server (AGS) and relational Data Store. jsheirer, Your right, the dialog box is not modal in 10.2.2. However, the pythonaddins.GPToolDialog() bug is back (see NIM-089253). I had no problem with this in bug in 10.2.1, but this is obviously a serious problem. I now have to roll back to 10.2.1 because of this. I can go on about the problems this causes, but I will save it for the bug report.

When updating M-values in a feature class using the data access module, I encounter the error below when I run the following code on a selected segment in ArcMap using a Python Add-In call to a Python tool. However, the M-values still update. I am wondering if this is a bug. I also tried this using "SHAPE@JSON" and got the same error, but the M-values still updated. Anybody else have this issue, or have some insight on why this error is being thrown? I am doing this inside an ArcMap edit session (ESRI Editor). After I run the da.updateCursor, I do some other non 'da' updates, so the commits get pushed through SDE to the underlying SQLServer database. I am on 10.2.1 import json, math
lin_ref = {'MILEPOST_FR': 1, 'MILEPOST_TO': 10}
with arcpy.da.UpdateCursor(segmentfc,["SHAPE@"]) as cursor:
for row in cursor:
json_obj = json.loads(row[0].JSON)
mp_to = len(json_obj['paths'][0]) - 1
fulldist = row[0].getLength('PLANAR', 'FEET')
conversionfactor = (math.fabs(lin_ref['MILEPOST_TO']
- lin_ref['MILEPOST_FR']) / fulldist)
for i,v in enumerate(json_obj['paths'][0]):
if i == 0:
json_obj['paths'][0][2] = float(lin_ref['MILEPOST_FR'])
else:
# distance in map units between last vertex and current vertex
x1vert = json_obj['paths'][0][0] - json_obj['paths'][0][i-1][0]
y1vert = json_obj['paths'][0][1] - json_obj['paths'][0][i-1][1]
vertdist = math.sqrt(x1vert**2 + y1vert**2)
vert_lrdist = vertdist * conversionfactor
json_obj['paths'][0][2] = json_obj['paths'][0][i-1][2] + float(vert_lrdist)
for feature in json_obj['paths']:
pline = arcpy.Polyline(arcpy.Array(
[arcpy.Point(X=coords[0], Y=coords[1], M=coords[2])
for coords in feature]), row[0].spatialReference, False, True)
row[0] = pline
cursor.updateRow(row)

I am calling a python tool (i.e. within a python toolbox) using the pythonaddins.GPToolDialog() function. The call to the to tool is made from within a python add-in button tool. The python tool dialog box launches with no problem, but the dialog box is modal. I would like it the user to still be able to interact with ArcMap. Has anyone been able to launch a non-modal tool dialog? Or, is this just a limitation? I am on 10.2.1.

Your right, my Python tool dialog will not let me have access to the map while it is open and launched from an add-in button tool. If the new polygon is used as input into your tool, you could program your tool to get the selected feature using a SearchCursor. If you provide more detail on your tool and workflow, I have some example code.

Not the most elegant solution, but since you only have 10 rows... i = 0
lastvalue = []
with arcpy.da.SearchCursor(fc, ["fieldA"]) as cursor:
for row in cursor:
lastvalue.append(row[0]) # keep track of all your values so you have a lookup table.
if i == 9: # this is the last row in the table, i.e. row 10
if row[0] == lastvalue[i-1]: # compare the last row in the table to row 9.
print('current row equals the previous row')
i += 1

I found the issue. My digital signature needed to be in .p12 format rather than .crt. After changing this the utility ran smoothly from the command line as well as using the user interface. I also noticed on another forum that .pfx will work as well. (ArcMap add-in, v10.2, x64, W7)

In using the ESRISignAddIn.exe utility, I have encountered an error. Add-In is functional. I copied the ESRISignAddin.exe over to my ArcGIS\Desktop10.2\bin folder. When I run the utility, I choose my addin, then I choose my cetificate. After I hit "Finish" I get this error that says "Signing key is not loaded" (see screenshot), followed by a message that says "Failed to sign the add-in". The certificate manager indicates that the certificate is "ok". Any ideas on what this error means, and how to fix?
