Totally agree, we use to copy the attributes from one line to create two of them instead of splitting them. Very tedious work now. So splitting would be great functionality for us. Please add COGO functionality too. This will make it possible to translate field measurements to features on the map.

You can combine multiple conditions with an AND or OR statement as in SQL. You do this in the case of Arcade with a double && for AND and a double || for OR. Example AND: if($feature.field1 == "a" && $feature.field2 == "b" && $feature.field3 == "c") Example OR: if($feature.field == "a" || $feature.field == "b" || $feature.field == "c") Example combination: if($feature.field1 == "a" && $feature.field2 == "b" || $feature.field1 == "c" && $feature.field2 == "d") Hopefully you get on with this. Good luck!

Totally agree! For specific tasks we use Web App Builder now just for this type of selection capabilities. It is not uncommon for us to select 100 points or more (representing trees where we use biological treatment against oak processionary caterpillar). Picking points one at a time is tedious. But we prefer to work in Field Maps because an app works better than a browser in such cases.

We experience the behavior while working online, even on recent versions of iOS on iPad Air and Pro. To me it seems not to depend on the OS if others experience the problems on Android devices.

Dear Colin, We experience the same problems with iPads (iPad Air 2 gen, iPad Air 3 gen, iPad Pro 11 2 gen). Because our field workers have to do a relatively large number of edits per day, it is not uncommon for the iPad to be restarted 5 to 10 times a day to save the Field Maps edits in less than 15 seconds. Else they spend their time waiting 30-60 seconds for an edit to save. In particular, there are 2 web maps where we experience the problems (also the 2 most actively used web maps within the organization at the moment). Let me know if you would like to take a look at this too, then I invite "arcgisfieldmaps" too.

Same problem for us in the Netherlands. We use NAP (New Amserdams Peil) here. This is comparable to "Normalhöhennull" in Germany. Now we are actually forced to work with other software to make accurate height measurements and working with an accurate GNSS antenna in combination with Field Maps has no added value for us.

It is possible to dive into the JSON of the webmap where every stetting is stored in the background. That’s how I manage this problem. The easiest way is trough the ArcGIS Online Assistant. You can’t make the non edit pop-up conditional, but you can order the fields there. It’s also possible to define what fields are editable in the edit multiple mode and make required fields conditional by arcade expressions as used with conditional visibility. This is not yet possible in Field Maps Online.

Hi Bill and Jay, The selection tool in Web App Builder is very handy indeed, I also use it for applications where a lot of objects have to be mutated at the same time. However, in Field Maps it is also possible to edit multiple features. You do this via the overflow button at the top right of the app when you are in the map (not in edit mode). It works a little slower if you have to select more than 100 features for example. You can zoom out and select almost all of them at once under a thick finger, but you have to check whether everything is selected.

I agree. You can also use known points on the map for an accurate measurement. It is therefore not only important for distance, but also direction in degrees. In ArcGIS Pro as an example you have 3 functions each with 2 control points: Intersect > Intersection of 2 directions Heading / Distance > Intersection point between heading and distance buffer (choose 1 of 2 results) Distance / distance > Intersection point between 2 distance buffers (choose 1 of 2 results) It would be great if at least one measurement (also in the form of a buffer circle) could be stored temporarily (eg as a mapnote). It must also be possible to snap a point on the measurement. Such possibilities exist in GNSS Survey applications. You call that COGO calculations there. Bring Geoprocessing to Field Maps I would say.

At the moment this is possible with app integration between ArcGIS Field Maps and EOS Tools Pro on iOS. If EOS Tools Pro is installed on the device and you have an Arrow GNSS receiver and a Laser rangefinder, you can take an offset measurement. The calculations are done entirely in EOS Tools Pro. It would be attractive if this could just be done in Field Maps, but I do think an accurate GNSS receiver is a must for this workflow. For more information about the laser offset method, see: https://eos-gnss.com/product/solutions/laser-mapping

What I really miss in Field Maps compared to the asset management software that I want to replace with Field Maps is the possibility of copying field values to another feature. Until now it is only possible to copy a feature as geometry. The use of "Edit multiple" does not quite meet the need here. It would be wonderful if in the Edit Multiple function a choice would be made for the values of the first selected feature per field. In addition, it would be absolutely perfect if there was a check box with which this is set on all editable fields.

Hi LouseHarris1, The != means in Arcade IS NOT. So in your case you have to use == for IS in SQL terms. Here you will find further documentation and how-to's: https://developers.arcgis.com/arcade/

Hello Chris, It is possible to use a web map as a basemap in Survey123: - Open the survey in Survey123 Connect - Go to the Map tab after hitting the Basemap button - Select the map that belongs to your survey - Publish the survey again Now you can see the previously collected features on the map in Survey123 after selecting the proper basemap when the map is in edit mode. Often it is still necessary to configure the web map itself in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer to add more context in the form of symbology and contextual map layers.

@DougMorgenthaler That’s a great improvement I totally missed. Helps a lot! Addition of a turn averaging on/off button wil be even greater. More interval modus and thresholds on minimum accuracy/ distance from mean wil be the very perfect solution. Thanks for the development you and your team did so far! This kind of functionality fills the gap to other survey software.
