hey hey, thank you for your time. I guess I need to try and learn python better. ultimately I'd like to have multiple outputs... not just true and false. For ex. if the count is higher than 100, continue to the next model too. elseif, elseif else etc. Very similar to the test filter/tester tool in FME if you are familiar with the software. So the code you sent me just prevents the value calculator from allowing zero/n as an option. hmm okay. just need to study up and learn how to add in the count operators. thanks for your help.

Hi every one, I have a very simple model that selects an attribute by a layer and counts the rows of that attribute type. I would like to use the calculate value tool to make a boolean true and false out puts. Just to check if the value is greater than X else less than X. I've tried following the help here but I can't seem to get it right: http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2011/06/06/modelbuilderifthenelse2/ any ideas? Best, Devon

Hey there, 2 questions: First with that distribution code can i substitute the Venice trees for the standard ones? Or substitute the Venice trees for single point rules, like say other tree rules or street furniture rules? And secondly the housing rule, not the zoning polygon the actual textured standard lot houses found in that video (1 min in). Is that rule available somewhere? Best, Devon

Does any one know if this tree rule is available? Found at 1 minute in this ESRI video: http://video.arcgis.com/watch/1760/3d-land-use-zoning Thanks a million! Devon

okay when you downloaded the tutorial work spaces they come pre packaged in a CE workspace. you need to copy the rules from those work spaces into your rule folder in your own workspace. Make sure you copy and paste all the asset data from the tutorial folders into your asset folder. the CGA rules are "calling" on data like images and objects from those folders. since the data isnt there, thats why u get that the results you see. does that make sense?

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you just copied and pasted the CGA rules from the tutorials into your own workspace? Without moving over the associated Assets and data.

Hi M. , I know you've more then likely answered this question a thousand times, so I apologize in advance. But If I'm importing building foot prints with a height/Z attribute how can I procedurally extrude these buildings to create simple polygons? More Specifically, I'd like to use the Zoning.cga found in the red lands redevelopment example, as my cityengine model will be used for urban planning. Please see attached photo to confirm the rule. Can i link my SHP height attributes to this rule with MINIMAL CGA coding...as I consider my self to be basically CGA illiterate. Thanks, Devon

Good Afternoon, I'm using CE to export models to OBJ files. Which I then import to Blender to create live simulations, animations and interactive scenes. When exporting procedurally textured buildings or imported KMZ (from Google warehouse) the OBJ contains the textures. However, when exporting buildings with textures that come from Geodatabase shps, the OBJ contains no textures. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance, Devon

Good morning everyone, I'm not to familiar with ArcMap Parcel Editing Tools and had a few questions: First when creating/generating new parcels is it possible to create based on area, minimum frontage, frontage offsets, minimum width and max depth. Is it possible to create lots on a curve with a minimum frontage and offset? (see attached photo). My final question, are parametes remembered during editing/revising? For example, if you move a lot line of a parcel will the tool adhere to the original rule/parameter of the minimum lot width, area or other parameter? Thanks in advance, Devon

Hi Matt, Thanks for your response. I found an open source converter from autodesk called "FBX" and this will convert the revit fbx exports into collada. So importing to CityEnginge will work just fine. Thanks a million, Devon
