If all else fails, restart your tablet. I've always used the settings identified in the solutions below and just went through this problem. I was using the tablet (Samsung) yesterday to collect points and today when I fired up Avenza, every single map I had loaded said it wasn't referenced despite having used them hundreds of times. A simple reboot fixed the problem, but this points out how glaringly awful Avenza's become. I won't point out the numerous issues I've had with each succeeding update in the last two years but it's becoming nearly unusable. Too bad, it used to be great.

Hi, Stephen-- I'm pretty sure I followed the steps exactly. I had created a new geodatabase in the same location and with the same name and attributes as the original but emptied it of any data. I even changed the checkout timestamp in the XML back to the beginning of the data collection period in order to try to capture the very first day, and this does reflect in the Get Data From ArcPad processing window, but it still shows no "new" or modified features. Unfortunately, I don't have the Data Interoperability extensions and am not sure how I could get them, so I'm not sure if this is going to work.

I was able to follow those instructions successfully, but the data that are on the field unit were still not checked in.

The geodatabase that ArcPad was referencing during check-ins/check-outs has become unrecoverable. Is there a way to import the data that are still on the GPS unit? Performing the regular check-in results in only the most recent data being imported while their remains much, much more data still on the unit.

You'll need to make a model parameter of the field name. First, see this topic for a general discussion of how to create model tools: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/A_quick_tour_of_creating_tools_with_ModelBuilder/00150000001t000000/ Secondly, see this topic for information on how to make model variables: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Exposing_tool_parameters_as_variables/002w0000003w000000/ Then you can make a model parameter of the variable: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Creating_model_parameters/002w0000003z000000/ I'm not sure if this answer satisfied the original poster, but I would like to elaborate on the original problem. I'm trying to use a Calculate Field tool after using an Extract Multi Values to Points tool. However, this won't work because the Calculate Field tool doesn't predict the fields that will be created by the Extract Values tool. The Calculate Field tool only has a drop-down that is preloaded with fields that currently exist in the model. Making a model parameter from the Field Name in Calculate Field doesn't work either. Does anyone have a fix for this or am I asking the impossible?
