Hello, I am periodically editing an existing survey, which is an open-end questionnaire. For example, I add new fields, delete existing fields, add new logic, etc. Recently, while making a modification to the survey, I encountered a schema compatibility issue. I had made a copy of the survey to try the changes, then I copied them into the original excel. However, I didn't save a copy of the original excel before trying to publish the new version. Since I did it on multiple sessions, I lost the "undos" - fortunately I was able to manually revert back to a version that did not have compatibility issues. Can someone please recommend a reliable workflow - step by step - for working on tests and modifications, and then safely publish modified surveys? Thanks, Diego I use Survey123 - Version 3.15.175

Thank you Doug. That worked! I added null to bind:esri:fieldType on the note and the two calculate fields and that solved the issue. Regards, Diego

Hello, I've seen some posts related to this topic, but didn't find one with a specific issue related to a summary table: - I have an existing published survey and I created a summary table using HTML tags, for the users to be able to see a summary of what they have entered. For this, I used a solution posted elsewhere in this forum, as shown here: I get the String Binary data will be truncated error when I enter more than 2 items on the repeat question (sometimes the users need to enter many items in this repeat). I am guessing that it is the length of the summary table content what is creating the issue. I tried changing the bind::esri:fieldLength in the note field, but I get the following error when republishing the survey (this is a an existing surver): Any ideas for what is causing this problem and how to solve it? Thanks, Diego

@IsmaelChivite Thank you for following up. In the post, I am indeed referring to Labels. I was advised by the analyst (Mariah) that this was and expected behavior, as per the following email pasted below, related to case (03135314): "Diego, Thanks for letting me know! Please find a brief summary of the case below for ease of reference: At first, the case was created as it appeared that certain questions in a Survey123 form did not have associated fields in the survey's feature layer Attribute Table The questions displayed data when looking at a feature in the Survey123 website's Data tab, but the Attribute table did not appear to contain an associated feature layer We eventually determined that this was because the questions' Labels had been changed in the Survey123 XLS form and republished, which changes how the questions are labelled in the form itself, but not the Display Name for the fields in the Attribute Table This is expected behavior as the field aliases/Display Names are set once, when the survey is first published As this somewhat complicates your workflow, since the survey's names are regularly updated due to your naming convention, we logged the following Enhancement request ENH-000152036: Provide the capability for changing a question's Label in Survey123 Connect XLS form to update the field alias/Display Name in associated feature layer's attribute table You were able to escalate this Enhancement (after setting yourself as an Authorized Caller in MyEsri) and posted in the ArcGIS Ideas platform as well Since there are no further questions, I will go ahead and close out this case at this time. Thank you again for contacting Esri Support and I hope you have a wonderful day! I use a Survey123 form for collecting project data from our clients. This is an evolving questionnaire, that changes continuously. For example, new question are added, labels are edited for changing questions numbering or for making the question more clear. When changes are made to the survey and it is re-published, the labels are not updated. They stay as they were originally published. They can only be edited manually in ArcGIS online. Our survey contains over 500 rows (questions, sub-questions). Reviewing and updating this manually, question by question, is cumbersome and costly. After working with ESRI technical support, they confirmed that it is an expected behavior, not an error. It is not part of the current functionality of Survey123 to update the labels. It would be extremely useful to have that improvement in the functionality, for labels to update automatically when republishing a survey. Diego Brenes

Thank you. I partly solved this with the following statement in the report: ${green_loan_env} ${if especial_credit | selected:“copeval”} Not required ${/} However, my relevant expressions are more complex than one single operation and I could not figure how to include AND and OR on those expressions. For example, I tried the following with an AND expression, but it didn't work: ${permisos_licencia_amb1} ${if especial_credit | selected: “emerg_ecu_banana2022” and cert | selected:“yes”} Not required ${/} Any advice on how to incorporate that AND on the expression?

Hello I am looking for a way to mark or highlight non-relevant fields in the results or report of a questionnaire. For example, that in the report, if a question is not relevant, that field shows a text saying "Response not required" (if the non-relevance applies). I need something like this so that the reviewers of a questionnaire can easily identify non-relevant fields and know that they were not just left empty by the data collector. Any ideas on how I can achieve this? Thank you Diego

Hello, I have a Survey on ArcGIS Online that includes the following fields: Client ID, Client name, Country, Product. Is there a way to relate that survey to a table where all that information already exist, and then with only entering Client ID to automatically populate Client name, Country, Product? Diego

Thank you Vince, this is very helpful. I am using a File Geodatabase. Since this feature class in my database is rather small, no more than a few thousand features, I may not have performance issues. I'll try this route.

Thank you Chad. For the existing points, they will remain as one point. It is for new features that I will create within the same feature class that I want to have the option of having either 1 or several points.
