I don't know what is wrong in 10.2.2 but I was able to complete the exact same procedure successfully using ArcGIS Pro, both manually in the program, and through a python script. So that's my solution.

I've been trying to display a TIN as a 3D layer in ArcGIS Pro and have not been able to do so. I can get it to show up in 2D layers but I'm unable to drag it to 3D. I can open the multipoint .shp file I have and see that in 3D (from which I created the TIN). I made the TIN in 10.2. I can make the TIN the "elevation surface" which seems to work fine, though I'd like to see the TIN. Has anyone gotten this to work?

Win 8.1, ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced 10.2.2 I have been unable to process Zonal Statistics as Table for any dataset thus far. I come up with error after error. Most of the time it is "The name of the Field is invalid" or "Unable to build raster attribute table". I am also unable to build a raster attribute table for any raster which does not already have one. Is there some known problem with this tool? I got some example datasets that have been used as lessons for how to use the tool, to see if it was just my data. http://giswin.geo.tsukuba.ac.jp/sis/tutorial/koko/zonalstatistics/ZonalStatistics.pdf I can confirm that "Zonal Statistics" will otherwise work If the raster already has an attribute table (not one I built). Otherwise I always get the error "Unable to build the attribute table... required by operation" If I use a shape file, or raster I create from a shapefile. I cannot figure this out. I've tried to process this with small toy datasets to limit errors, Tried background processing off/on, Tried it in ArcCatalog. I re-install ArcGIs and Arc 64bit background processing. I've tried it in a Python script. I cannot get it to work. The only time "Zonal Statistics" will work is when I have a raster with an already built attribute table, but oddly "Zonal Statistics as Table" will not work even in that case. Any advice?

Greetings, I have a nice complete road dataset for Okinawa I managed to wrangle out of a Japanese website. However the roads are all polylines that are mapped to the road edges. Thus 1 road will have a left side and a right side polyline - (not labled as such). I want to create a polygon that fills in the space between these lines. The feature to Polygon tool makes a polygon out of all possible connections (including areas without any roads, not just the roads themselves). Is there a better way to create a polygon from these lines?

I have a file from a Japanese agency which stores DEM (and also polygon/point etc...) information in pure XML format. I am able to open the files in a Japanese program (which I barely understand) and can confirm that the data is there and working in some way. If anyone is familiar with this format or knows a method by which I might convert it to something more readily useful in Arc I would really appreciate some help. I've attached a sample of one of the files I have. It is a 10m LiDAR of part of Okinawa island. For reference this is the program which I've been able to use to open this file: 基盤地図情報ダウンロードサービス This is behind a sign-in wall at the bottom of the page (Google translates it as "Display software") Data is from this site: 基盤地図情報ダウンロードサービス They state the file format should be: JPGIS2014 (GML format) Thank you, Ken

I have been trying to create a python scrip to batch process .dat files (with .hdr files). The data is PRISM Temperature, Precip etc... data which are stored as .dat files - for all the type of functions I need, ArcGIS spatial analyst tools can do it if I do them 1-by-1. I have 3,100 files that need processing. This is what I need to happen Mask the PRISM data to the study area. Convert PRISM .dat to ASCII I tried adapting the code I found below # Extracts the cells of a raster that correspond with the areas
# defined by a mask.
# Author: Michel
# Date: 10 de Janeiro de 2011
# -----------------------------
# Import system modules
import sys, string, os, arcgisscripting
# Create the Geoprocessor object
gp = arcgisscripting.create()
try:
# Check out any necessary licenses
gp.CheckOutExtension("spatial")
# Load required toolboxes...
gp.AddToolbox("C:/Program Files (x86)/ArcGIS/Desktop10.0/ArcToolbox/Toolboxes/Spatial Analyst Tools.tbx")
gp.workspace = "C:/Users/ken/Desktop/GIS Model/FinalProjectData/PRISM_Binary/test"
out_workspace = "C:/Users/ken/Desktop/GIS Model/FinalProjectData/PRISMPrecip"
mask = "C:/Users/ken/Desktop/GIS Model/FinalProjectData/PolygonStudyArea/polygonstudyarea.shp"
# Get a list of the rasters in the workspace
raster = gp.ListRaster()
# Loop through the list of rasters
raster.reset()
raster = raster.next()
while raster:
# Set the outputname for each output to be the same as the input
output = out_workspace + raster
# Process: Extract by Mask...
gp.ExtractByMask_sa(raster, mask, output)
# Loop function...
raster = raster.next()
except:
# If an error occurred while running a tool, then print the messages.
print "Error in script"
print gp.GetMessages() But I've read that the tool in python has a known error that won't process .dat The python code I cobbled clumsily together for mass converting to ASCII had no luck # Description: Converts a raster datasets to an ASCII file representing
# raster data from a foler.
# Requirements: arcpy
# Author: Kenneth
# Import system modules
import arcpy
from arcpy import env
try:
# Set environment settings
env.workspace = "C:/Users/ken/Desktop/GIS Model/FinalProjectData/PRISM_Binary/test"
out_workspace = "C:/Users/ken/Desktop/GIS Model/FinalProjectData/PRISMPrecip"
# Set local variables
raster = env.ListRaster()
#loop through raster list
raster.reset()
raster = raster.next()
while raster:
#set output name for each to be same as input
outASCII = out_workspace + rasterlist
# Execute RasterToASCII
arcpy.RasterToASCII_conversion(raster, outASCII)
#loop function
raster = raster.next()
except:
# If an error occurred while running a tool, then print the messages.
print "Error in script" Is there any other way I can mass change these files? I appreciate any help.
