Hi Kristoffer Stenersen. Thank you very much for helping me out on this! Do you have a link to useful resources about this topic? (calculating a well known tiling scheme and using it with arcgis.) Have a nice one.

Hi Kristoffer Stenersen. Thanks for your reply! Basically i find your proposal interesting and it is definitely pointing in the right direction. The problem is that i am only able to consume the given service (in this case WMS). I have no access to the server and the data and therefore i think it is not possible for me to build up a tiling-scheme to build up a cache. Up to this date i did not find any possibility to directly cache WMS services without additional processing. So as far as i know i have to give up on the idea or get the host of the data to convert it into WMTS (or at least to generate a tiling-scheme for the cache) . I hope my assumptions are right - please correct me if i am wrong. Thanks for your reply!

Hi everyone. Is it possible to cache WMS services locally and permanently on a iOS device? The map data is too big to store the whole map locally. Or is this only possible with WMTS services? Thanks for your help!

Hello, I use this code, but it only zooms/focuses the first time when executed. self.mapView.locationDisplay.autoPanMode = AGSLocationDisplayAutoPanModeDefault; [self.mapView.locationDisplay startDataSource]; Any other time, the LocationDisplay is shown on the map but no zoom happens (It only centers to the current location). I hacked my way around zooming manually with [self.mapView zoomToScale:10000 withCenterPoint:self.mapView.locationDisplay.mapLocation animated:TRUE]; every time i call the code. Is there a better way to achieve a behaviour where the zoom happens every time the code is executed? Have a nice day!

Hi Forum, I am building an iOS App that provides a selection of multiple maps including a thumbnail to every map. If a user clicks one, this map is loaded to the mapview. Before the server was secured, i retrieved the name of the thumbnail from the Map-JSON i retrieved from the server, built the right URL (like http://<server>/arcgis/mobile/content/items/<THE_MAP_ID>/info/thumbnail/thumb_mapname.png) and fetched the thumbnail manually. However, since the server is secured this method does not work, because i need the credential to access this server-area. Loading maps etc. with the credential works fine. Is there any possibility to load the thumbnails via the ArcGIS iOS SDK? Thanks in advance.
