That would be a great idea. I was looking for something like this, the posibility to show an image in a label, not in a pop up, in order to print a map with pictures linked to a feature (point or line).

I have exported a shapefile to a kml-file in order to edit and share it with serveral persons in google-maps. Finally I wanted to convert it again to a sharefile, using the new function of Arcgis 10.1. To my regret I noticed that all the popup text is in one field (initially there were several fields to add text.) Is there a way to avoid this? Thanks, Chris

Hello everybody, Three questions about arcgis.com map viewer: 1. Is it posible to create personalized templates for editable layer instead of the six preconfigured templates ("map notes" to "recreation"). 2. Is it posible that any user invited to see the map can edit the templates? 3. Finally is it posible to download the data base created by the diferent users (shapefile or data base)? Thanks a lot in advance, Chris

The Interpolate Shape tool has the option to select only the vertices or the entire line. If you select the entire line, it will add vertices where the elevation changes, making it a rather complex feature. If you have a coarse spatial resolution(large cell size) in your DEM, then the number of vertices created will be much less than a finer resolution DEM(smaller cell size.) If you are altering the sampling distance under your cell size, then you will not see a difference, to see a difference it must be much greater than the default. Thanks fot the quick answer. In my case the DEM has a resolution of 50m x 50m, so getting back to my example, if I define a sample distance of 1000 meters for may 20 km track, there should not be more than 20 vertices, correct? I have checked this, but I did not have any success. Another question: is it possible to edit manually the Z-value of my interpolated line in order to adapt it in case of a bridge or a tunel? Thanks again, Chris

Have you found some program or aplication to do so? I think with ArcGIS it is not posible, though it would be really useful. Chris

Hello everybody, I've tried several attemps to reduce the number of points while interpolating a quiet ling route, but I really can't apreciate the diference when I start the profile graph. So, for example, if my route is 20 km long and I use a sample distance of 1 km, there have to be only 20 pionts or vertices in the profil graph. Is this correct? Or does the sample distance function not work with raster base maps? Thanks a lot in advance, Chris

I have some questions in relationship with the creation of elevation profiles: - is it posible to fix the scale of the elevation profile, so that the relation between the X - and Z - Axis is always the same? - Once you have designed a graph profile, is it posible to save it, so that you can aply the same design for another feature? My questions refer to ARCGIS 10. Thanks a lot in advance, Chris

Is it possible to export a feature from a web map to the desktop. I've read it should be posible to save the map es a "map package", but I can't figure out how to do so. Thanks, Chris

The geometric network needs to have a geometric network added to ArcMap to be active. It is not a licensed toolbar and has nothing to do with the Network Analyst extension. The Network Analyst extension works with Network Datasets primarily for transportation problems. The geometric network is for utility (electric, sewer, pipeline) type of applications and you use the Utility Network Analysis toolbar with them. Read more on them here: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/What_are_geometric_networks/002r00000001000000/ Jay Sandhu I've the same problem (Geometric Network Editing Toolbar not "alive" (always gray), though I have a gemetric network added to ArcMap. What could be the problem? Thanks, Chris

Hi guys, I've created a network based on a line feature. Afterwards some test with service areas I found out that in a few case the network is not "clean" (two endpoints do differ in their location). How can I check how many problems of this kind do I have in the network and is there an order to resolve the problems with one command (like the topology command)? Thanks a lot, Chris
