Yes, I checked those first. Thank you for giving me the Best Practices of getting a response. I have been asked to do some conflation work on some road data from different sources. I have never done this before. I have 10.2.2 installed and didn't know if I should install 10.3 to get the best results as I learned. ESRI, please note that finding the current version of help using google is often difficult. The response with the highest google rank is often a much older version. And since ESRI does not use the same naming conventions from version to version the user can't easily modify the url to get to the documents for the most recent version. Are their online training materials for using this set of tools? Thank you.

If you view this site http://rmms-dev.ad.uiuc.edu/hao/rmms/homepage.htm in FF or Chrome the map frame shows the service. But if you view the site in IE9, the map service does not display. Visual Studio does show warnings in the homepage code - the DTD is Transitional, the code uses Frameset and an error is flagged in IE9 but not in FF. Can someone explain what the problem is?

The ArcGIS Server Help for 10.1 (Data Storage Considerations) says ... A common example is caching a web map in the WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere) projection used by ArcGIS Online, Bing Maps, and Google Maps. So do they all use the same WMAS or do Google and Bing use WM?

This is what was sent by a medium level technical analyst =========== Once you got the token key, could you access the map service directly by attaching the token key after map service url? e.g. Http://YourServerName/arcgis/rest/service/MapName/MapServer?token= ========= The answer is no -- we are redirected to the login page.

I assume that you are developing an application based on one of the web APIs such as JavaScript, Flex, or Silverlight. In this case you have to handle security. There are 2 choices here: 1) Client software gets a token from the server and passes that token to the various client APIs when accessing services. In this case the "login page" is in the client software. 2) Design a web application, e.g. ASP.NET, which is essentially a proxy. The proxy authenticates users and has a login page. When a request comes from an authenticated client, it appends the token to the request and then forwards it. Yes, developing an SL app, but that is unrelated to the problem at hand right now.

I went to http://myserver/ArcGIS/rest/services and generated a token. The token was for userA and so should show the serviceA. I then used that token http://myserver/ArcGIS/rest/services/serviceA/Mapserver?token= token value Then I was sent to the login page. I enter the login/pw for userA and then was able to open the serviceA metadata and see serviceA in the javascript api. So while I had to give the login/pw to generate the token - the user still has to login. Is that how it is suppose to work? or having passed the token obtained for userA should I be able to see serviceA without another login? My security store is sqlserver. I have https turned off for now in development.

The user is to draw a polygon in the map frame. The first point is drawn fine. For the second point it may take 8 to 10 clicks before the point appears on the screen. This doesn't happen in debug mode in VS 2010. Why might this happen?
