We use Collector app to collect data and have it track the location of the iPad in use for people to know where they are in the real world. Therefore, it would be nice to have geo-fencing so we can get notifications if we are getting close to a certain area. For example, sensitive herbicide spray locations or entering or leaving city limits when they should be staying within them. Also, I am not sure if this would all work without ArcServer and or Geo-Event Processor but to be able to notify people of there location while hopefully utilizing the app would be very helpful.

I am trying to join two feature classes together and pass attachments off to the other feature. One has attachments and the other is "Attachment Enabled." When I make the join I am loosing the attachments to the target FC. Is there any way to pass attachments from one FC to another?

I am using Survey123 in conjunction with Collector app to collect a related table of inspections based on object id's from features. I am calling certain attributes of the "point" feature service to answer questions with Survey123. arcgis-survey123://?itemid=abbd0ada3da34b4cae4c6bcc9aaf66f3&field:obj_id={OBJECTID}&field:cu_length={Shape__Length} Now what I am trying to do is a number function on a passed field into survey. CEILING(number) CEILING(12.93)—result is 13 My initial thought was to do the function on the field in the URL like &field:cu_length[=CEILING({Shape__Length}) however it just kept the "CEILING" as text but not as a function on the number. I am trying to make it so my crew doesn't have to actually measure the length of a feature but just draw it and get the feature length. However, having it as a nearest integer would be nice. It doesn't have to be that exact. Is what I am asking for even a thing?

I ended up editing vertices and moving an end vertex and then saved my edits and the table then gave the feature a shape_length and got rid of the incorrect geometry. So I think it worked! Thanks for the help and ideas!

I believe the line was hand drawn in geomedia then exported as a .shp then imported into a GDB. Is there a way to fix corruption? All I can imagine is that the data got corrupted somewhere along the imports and exports. Unlike other features it doesn't have a shape_length that would be auto generated from being imported in a GDB. If I select the feature that is corrupted and a I zoom to selection it zooms me in up close. Also, if I zoom to full map extent then it doesn't go to a crazy extent it stays within a reasonable extent. Does that give enough info?

I have some data that seems to have some geometry errors in it but I cant figure it out. I tried repair geometry and I tried exporting the feature class out to another GDB but it didn't work. it seems like a road is exploading into outerspace for no apparent reason. However, I can only tell if I try to select all of the roads. I found an error when trying to turn my road layer into a route. It gave me a Please see the attached picture to see the problem.

Hey All, I am working in 10.5 without server and I am curious if there is a way to set a web map to have geoevent alerts. All locally on an ipad, I am wanting an operator to be alerted that he is entering a special location. Thanks any help or ideas are appreciated!

Hi, I am running into the same problem where I get an error message stating I am not logged into ArcGIS Online. I think I got it to work by leaving a blank map instance open that is logged into ArcGIS Online. Then because its open it wont log you out and it technically is logged in because you logged in manually. I know this might be cumbersome but its what I got to work. I will just leave an instance of ArcMap open Monday night when the updates will happen. I hope this helps!

I have access to an SQL database and I have made a connection to the data tables. When I drag the table into my toc the table pops and I can join the table to a set of features. That is perfect to have real time data. Now, if I leave the table in the map, is the table dynamic back to the SQL database. Meaning if someone edits the table while its in my map will the table change? My thought is I will have to create a new join to update my joined features but I am hoping the data table will have a live connection back to the database. Is this just wishful thinking?

I have a very basic knowledge of Python coding but I understand the power of it. What I am trying to find is if my road layer has gaps or overlaps in the milepost attribute data. My rules are: 1. a road and all of its segments has the same RoadLog number or ID 2. the milepost should be fluid or no gaps or overlaps, mp 0-1, mp 1-2, mp 2-3 for example for consecutive road segments how do you loop through the values of the two fields? then if the RoadLog numbers are the same are there a matching record and so on. Thanks for any help

Hi all, I have parent parcels that have been short platted. When I look at the short plat somewhere some one goofed and they don't line up. I tried Rubber sheeting but connecting all of the vertices was a chore. Especially on lots that have a lot of curves to them What is my best way to transform the short plat into the parent parcel so the boundaries area all coincident? I don't want to have re-draw everything from legal description inside of the parent parcel.

I am noticing that if you have tracking turned on in collector that it lags as you drive. I am wanting to use it to record spray records and line features as they move. How accurate can I expect it to be? Also, if I get an external GPS unit to increase my accuracy will that help the tracking lag?
