Where do you work and what is your role? My name is Frank and I work for a Civil Engineering firm as a GIS/Tech Specialist. I studied architecture, and geographic information sciences, both a bachelor's degree. In the fall I'll be taking classes online for computer programming. As one of 60 people and multiple clients, I manage GIS processes and information for everyone. This includes equipment, resources, and technology integration including AutoDesk and Adobe. What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? Learning to better integrate AutoDesk with GIS such as pipe network imports from ArcGIS Online information. Using Infraworks to share ArcGIS Online data with other engineers. Providing webhook integrations and building forms customers can use to manage well monitoring data. Educating others in the company on GIS in a way that is useful to them. What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community? My expertise is technology processes and integrations. I constantly diversify in software. With a background in architecture I can do: advanced 3D modeling; BIM modeling and management; digital to physical translations including 3-D printing, laser cutting, and CnC Technologies; interoperability; generative design and parametrics; data scraping; macroing and VBA; graphic design and cartography; civil engineering related data management; web programming; python; UAS Pilot; and management of GIS for communities and the firm. You can check out my Architecture studies here: https://issuu.com/franklin.parker.architect/docs/test1_export If someone ever wants help with translating data between multiple software or connecting data I have lots of experience in so many different technologies I have insight into the general behavior and concepts of data transformation. I like to think I'm an artist when it comes to being creative in using existing software to do my bidding, and I never hesitate to integrate. Favourite Location 43°33'26.2"N 96°43'20.1"W

Pamela, can you verify that when you move the point, that you're not hitting the back arrow and are tapping the check mark. This is not the same check mark to submit the entire form, but is the check mark to confirm your location selection.

Hey Pamela, I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly. I don't know of a way to manually move the GPS on your phone manually. This like a mock location type of deal. However, I think what you're asking is can you move the point within Survey123 and mark the locations of these machines? The answer is yes, very simply when you go into the survey and at the geopoint question. Tap on the map. This will make the map big on your phone. You may even want to look at doing some integrating with Collector. I prefer Collector to navigate, and Survey123 to perform maintenance and operations. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/reference/integratewithotherapps.htm Lots of options you can do with something like this. I provided a QR code on some machines for a city so when they go to the machine, it gives them the survey they should be using. Best of luck, Frank

Hey Kaitlyn, I hope things are going well for you! I'm not sure I fully understand the question. Is there a criteria that is met in order to determine area calculation? I'm guessing if its octagonal such as your stop sign you use a certain equation correct? Might I suggest you use the look up function where you define each sign with the equation so that it pulls that equation for that criteria. I wonder how you're setting up your pull data currently that you are still looking to use nested statements. Survey123 for ArcGIS – XLSForm: Enabling CSV Data into your Survey - YouTube Let me know if that helps. Nested if functions are exhausting.

I know with Collector being updated constantly there is something in the works to gather z information. I currently see a resolution for a workaround to gathering instant elevation data. Knowing a GPS unit sync'd in Collector for ArcGIS will gather altitude information, we can upload a raster to use a custom expression to use a geometry function to extract the value on the raster from the points location to subtract the geoid value from the altitude value to get a live elevation. I'm working on a polygon version of this by converting a surface to a set of polygons, if possible, to demonstrate how this would be useful. I'll also be providing benchmarks for accuracy from our survey department on a project we're working on to demonstrate the accuracy of this information. Will post as soon as possible.
