Hi @LindsayRaabe_FPCWA , Thanks for reaching out and sharing your idea. Data Pipelines does not currently have plans to support a negative search distance. Is the data you're joining public or sharable (even if it's just the geometries and no attributes)? This is an interesting use case and we'd like to investigate options. If it's sharable, please feel free to send it along to me directly at bscott@esri.com and we will take a look. And just to confirm, when you run the exact same join in Pro (Intersect with all the same spatial references and no search radius), are the results the same as what you're seeing in Data Pipelines? Thanks again, Bethany

Hi @LindsayRaabe_FPCWA , Thank you for sharing your idea with us. The "in the last" and "not in the last" options are coming in a near term update of ArcGIS Online. We're actually working on it right now and are aiming to introduce them in the June update. 🙂 We will update this thread once they're officially available. Thanks again, Bethany

Hi @AnthonyWillisSr , Thank you for reaching out. Just to be sure, could you please confirm the following: Your organization's subscription type is not Personal Use, Developer, or Trial. Your account has a Publisher role, or an equivalent custom role. If you have a custom role, please have an administrator ensure that you have at least the following privileges (they are all under the General privileges > Content category): Create and run data pipelines Create, update, delete Publish hosted feature layers Your organization does not block the ArcGIS Data Pipelines app. This will also need to be checked by an administrator. For information on how to check this, see the doc here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/administer/configure-security.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_CE007AFEA465444887036BD6D7038639 I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you are not able to access after confirming these things and we can reassess. Thank you, Bethany

Hi @tendtreesTC , To use the asset ID field as input to the Unique identifier parameter, you'll need to add a unique constraint to the field. This only needs to be done for your copy of the layer, not the clients. After that you should be able to complete the steps I noted above. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again, Bethany

Hi @tendtreesTC , Thank you for reaching out. Here's the general workflow to follow: Add the client's garden feature layer to your content via URL using the New item button on the Content page. If the layer is not public, you will need to store the credentials. In Data Pipelines, connect to the layer using the Feature layer input. Configure an output Feature layer. Set the Output method parameter to Add and update Use the Feature layer parameter to browse to the layer you want to update Set the Unique identifier parameter (for example, OBJECTID. The values must correspond to the same features in each layer). Save and Run the data pipeline. This will update your layer with the information from the client's layer. Schedule the data pipeline using the Schedule button in the editor. Alternatively, if your feature layer is not the origin in the relationship, you could use the Replace output method. Replace does not support replacing data in layers or tables that are the origin of a relationship. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again, Bethany

In the February 2024 update of ArcGIS Data Pipelines, the application moved out of beta and is now available for general use. Transitions from beta to general availability are subject to breaking changes. Please be aware of the following changes in the February 2024 update: The results from scheduled data pipelines that were run during beta will no longer be accessible from the scheduling UIs in the Data Pipelines app. Output feature layers or tables that were generated will still be available in your content, and any active tasks will continue to run as scheduled. Results returned after the update will be available in the scheduling UI. The following field types from Google BigQuery are now read differently: BigNumeric fields are now read as type Double. Previously, fields of this type were not supported and were dropped. Datetime fields are now read as type Date. Previously, fields of this type were read as strings. The behaviour for casting numeric fields when using the Update fields tool has changed in the following ways: Casting a decimal value to an integer value now rounds to the nearest integer. Previously the value would have been truncated at the decimal regardless of the decimal value. For example, previously a double value of 2.9 would have been cast to an integer value of 2. Now the value will be cast to a value of 3. Casting a numeric value to a smaller type could now return null instead of the largest supported value for that field. For example, if you cast a big integer value of 9223372036854776000 to an integer, the result was previously 2147483647 (the largest supported value for an integer field). Now the value will be returned as null. Encoded URLs are no longer supported. For example, URLs such as the following which uses encoded values: https://opendata.org/api/geojson?query=issuedate%3A2024&timezone=America%2FLos_Angeles To resolve the encoding issue, you can use a publicly available decoder, such as this one. Just enter your URL with encoded values, click decode, and use the resulting URL as input to the Public URL tool in Data Pipelines. If you have questions about changes you observe in Data Pipelines or how to remedy the changes, please reply to this thread or make a post in the Data Pipelines Questions forum. We are excited to announce that ArcGIS Data Pipelines is officially out of beta and available for general use in ArcGIS Online. Data Pipelines is a native data integration application in ArcGIS Online that offers fast and efficient ways to ingest, engineer, and maintain data from various sources. The app provides an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop interface for building data integration workflows which reduces the need for coding skills and simplifies your data prep tasks. In addition, Data Pipelines offers built-in scheduling functionality that enables you to automate your data prep workflows and keep your feature layers up to date as the source data grows and evolves. To learn more about ArcGIS Data Pipelines, watch the video below or check out the following resources: ArcGIS Data Pipelines is Now Available blog What’s new documentation There's more to come in future updates of Data Pipelines, and we want to hear from you on what we can do to improve your data prep workflows. Share your ideas or ask us a question here in Esri Community!

While Data Pipelines is in beta it is subject to breaking changes. For example, breaking changes could mean your output results change, or certain options are no longer available. In the October 2023 update of Data Pipelines, please be aware of the following updates: 1. When writing to output feature layers and tables, the following field types have changed: Big integer fields from input datasets will no longer be written to double fields, they will be written to the new big integer field type. Date fields from input datasets will no longer be written to string fields, they will be written to the new date-only type. Existing data pipelines that use datasets with these fields to update layers will likely need to be updated. You can use Update fields to update the type if it is appropriate for your data. 2. Snowflake table names support more characters but are now case sensitive. If you have existing data pipelines that use inputs from Snowflake, you may need to update the table names to accommodate this change. 3. For GeoJSON file inputs, the parameter Geometry type is now optional, and only needs to be specified if the GeoJSON feature collection contains multiple geometry types. If the feature collection contains only one geometry type, it is no longer valid to set a different type for the Geometry type. 4. For delimited file inputs, the parameter Infer schema is no longer available. Data Pipelines will now infer the dataset schema by default. To review or modify the inferred schema for delimited files, use the new Fields parameter. If you have questions about changes you observe in Data Pipelines or how to remedy the changes, please reply to this thread or make a post in the Data Pipelines Questions forum. To learn more about the October 2023 update of Data Pipelines (beta), check out the What's New in Data Pipelines (beta) blog.

Hi @DavidLovesArcGIS , We appreciate your feedback. Here's some more information in case it is helpful: You can update existing records by specifying the output feature layer method of Add and update; this will append new records and update existing records. Note that you'll want to use the Unique identifier parameter to update existing records, and you may need to set that field as unique in the feature layer item page. To delete existing records, the only option currently is to use the Replace output method. This will completely truncate your existing feature layer and write to it with the data from the source. See the doc here for more information on Add and update and Replace. Scheduling will be available next week. I will post here with some documentation and a quick blog with a video when it's available so you can check it out. You're right, there is no API or alerting for Data Pipelines yet. These features will likely come in a future release, but there is no promised timeline yet. We will take your feedback into account for planning and prioritization. Let us know if you try out Add and update or Replace and whether it can work for you or if you need something more. Thanks again for your feedback. Someone from the product management team will be reaching out to you to learn more about your workflow, feedback, and ideas. Bethany

Hi @DavidLovesArcGIS , Thank you for your question. I'd like to propose another option to try out. Data Pipelines (currently in beta) is a new data integration application available in ArcGIS Online. Data Pipelines can connect to and read from a variety of external data sources, including Snowflake and Azure Blob, and can write that data out as hosted feature layers or tables that are readily available in your content. One advantage of using Data Pipelines is that, unlike the other options you've listed, Data Pipelines is a no-code solution that can accomplish the workflow right in ArcGIS Online (no need for ArcGIS Pro, python, or other software and scripting). Additionally, in the ArcGIS Online update coming next week, there will be a new feature for scheduling data pipeline workflows - this means you'd be able to create an automated schedule for your daily inserts and updates. I will note that Data Pipelines is not explicitly designed to be a big data solution; there are some limits with the size of data that can be written (particularly when the data contains complex polygon geometries). However, I do think it's worth trying! Here are some resources to get started with Data Pipelines: Tutorial outlining how to access and use Data Pipelines How to connect to Snowflake How to connect to Azure Blob Requirements to access Data Pipelines Try it out and if you have any questions or run into any blocks, please let us know with a post in the Data Pipelines Questions forum. The Data Pipelines team monitors this closely and we are happy to help. 🙂 Thank you, Bethany

Hi @rmwarrren007 , Thank you for your inquiry. I have a few questions to help narrow it down: When you say you can't access it, does that mean you do not see "Data Pipelines (beta)" in the app switcher? Or does it mean you can see it in the app switcher, but when you open it it is in an "inaccessible" state? Related to 1, what do you see when you are logged in and you go to the Data Pipelines URL directly (for example, https://arcgis.com/apps/datapipelines)? Does the app load or do you see any informative messaging? Which subscription type do you have? Data Pipelines is not supported for Personal Use, Developer, or Trial subscription types. It is supported for all other subscription types. And lastly, a clarifying note regarding the "blocked" requirement: Even if the app is not uniquely blocked using "Manage blocked Esri apps", the "Block Esri apps while they are in beta" switcher seen below must be turned "off" in order to access Data Pipelines: Hopefully the answers to these questions can help us identify the problem. Thanks again and please let me know if you have any questions! Bethany
