I have a feature layer which I hope to summarize using the report designer. This feature layer has two fields, one called 'Completion Status' which can be one of three things: Completed, In Progress, or Not Started. The second field is a standard date field. In the report designer I want to create a text boxes which show several summary parameters including: - A count for the number of features where Completion Status = Completed - A count for the number of features where Completion Status = In Progress - A count for the number of features where Completion Status = Completed and fall within two specific dates Edit: If I could do this solely within the data field that would be great, maybe something like =COUNT(CompletionStatus == Completed) The only thing I have managed to do at this point is create a box which counts the total number of features in the feature layer. Any help is appreciated! -Andrew

OK... I believe I have found the issue. When I create the output of the Create Signature Tool as %name%.gsg if creates the sig files as follows... 001.jpg.gsg , 002.jpg.gsg, etc... However if I change %name% to %n% it names the signature files as the iteration number... 01.gsg, 02.gsg, 03.gsg, etc... I believe the double extension is what was messing this up. -Andrew

I don't believe I can use the Iso Cluster tool for this because the signature file needs to be generated from the training samples.

Sorry for the delayed reply... I have attempted to remove the iterator and run this as a batch but I get an error saying that none of the processes are ready to run. I am getting this error from attempting to run this model as a batch and selecting all the raster which I want to classify. -Andrew

Hey Larry, Thanks for the reply! With the same signature file from the first image, can you reproduce your classification task on other images without ModelBuilder? I could reproduce my classification on other images with the same signature file as the first image without ModelBuilder. However, the images have been taken with different settings. Therefore, I believe the signature files could be different between photos. My goal is to determine which camera setting produces the best classification/if there are even any differences in the accuracy of the classification based on camera setting. In your loop in ModelBuilder, I feel that the signature file from the second image (or the remaining) still duplicates from the first one. This does not overwrite the signature files. The way it is setup in modelbuilder, a signature file will be made for each image and using the function %Name% it will be named according the image used in that iteration. This means that all the signature files will have different names and will not overwrite each other. Pls verify your loop workflow with using the gp tool 'Iso Cluster'? I am not exactly sure what you mean by this but I will look into it! Thanks again!! -Andrew Roberts

Hey there! I am having an issue in modelbuilder that I cannot quite work my head around. I have many aerial photos of the same region over time. There are slight differences between the photos but I am using the same training samples for each classification. I have about 60 photos and I will be doing this for multiple areas so I wanted to create a model. I have done this without the use of iterators but the model becomes impossibly large and incredibly time consuming to produce or change but it was sucessful. Here is an image of what I am trying to do without iterator: Here is what I have come up with using a Raster iterator. I cannot determine why this is not working when using the iterate raster function. It is essentially doing the same thing as the top image. The iteration works fine when I remove the maximum likelihood classification tool. When this tool is removed it creates a signature file for each raster in the selected workspace. Anyone have any ideas what I am missing? Thanks! -Andrew

Thanks for the help, however in the end I used the original return max(Area1, Area2, Area3) solution but I manually converted my nulls to zeros so that it would work correctly.

The statement return max(Area1, Area2, Area3) Only works if there is a value for all three areas. If areas 1 and 2 have values but three is null, or any combination of this, then it doesn't work. If I could convert the <Null>s to zeros then I believe this the 'return max() function' might work.

I tried spatial join and couldn't get it to work exactly how I wanted it to. I found the parameters of the tool a little confusing. However, converting the polygons to points and extracting them worked fine for me. -Andrew

Hey, I have two shapes files. One contains a bunch of points while the other contains a bunch of polygons. In some cases, but not all, the points are located within/on a polygon. I would like to extract the values of the area for the polygons to the points that can be found within/on it and that will just provide either <null> or 0 when there is no polygon located at the same position as a point. I'm looking for a tool that works just like "Extract Values to Points" under Spatial Analyst Tools > Extraction but will use polygons rather than raster. Thanks, -Andrew

Hey Tim, Thanks I didn't know about this tool. Sorry for the confusion, I have coordinates in decimal degrees (DD) and want to convert them to Lat and Longitude (DMS.) This tool seems like it will definitely do the job. Thanks, -Andrew

Hey guys, I have an issue similar to this... I know how to fill a field with the coordinates of points using the calculate geometry function. However, of the scales that I can select from, I cannot select Lat and Long but I can select decimal degrees. What I'm wondering is if it's possible to create, for example, a new field and use a python statement to manipulate the field filled with the decimal degrees to convert them to lat and long coordinates. Thanks, -Andrew

Thanks a lot Eric! Your Right, the coordinate system for the inputs were in degrees for the tool that was not working. The geographic input coordinates can be seen in attachment 1 and the projected geographic coordinates can be seen in attachment 2. I used the project tool under Data Management > Projection and Transformations in arc toolbox to fix this!!

Hey Eric, Attached is a screen shot of the coordinate system that I am using. Also under General>Units in data frame properties, my map is set at meters and my display is set to kilometers. My inputs are all features/vectors. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by, "are you using Cell Size setting in the environments" but I do have values in for the parameter of output cell size. The thing is, I have two tools created using modelbuilder and both do generally the same thing. However one appears to output in meters and the other does not. The tool that outputs in what appears to be meters has 100 for output cell size, the tool that has a very abstract scale has an output cell size of 0.05. The 0.05 value is inputted by the tool when I leave the parameter blank and if I change it to 100 the tool does not run.

I need to know how to set the scale of the output raster from the euclidean distance tool. I need the output in meters and I do not know how to set it to this. All I know is the output that I'm getting is on a scale that is much larger than meters or even kilometers... Any help is appreciated! -Andrew
