Thank you so much for providing me this solution! What you taught me: The ready () function is a pattern of requirejs and thus is called when all objects are created (that includes the pageone div so it made no sense to call that on(pageone, "pagecreate", PanelPlace); In the jquery mobile sample I found , it did not use requirejs and thus no call to ready() function and thus their script had logic to trap the pagecreate of that div using $(document).on("pagecreate", "#index", function(e)... Is this correct? Now since my PanelPlacer is called in ready () function [ a pattern of requirejs ] then I am not in a pagecreate event of that particular div object so 'this' is not right to reference here. Just use the div id. great so far. Now I am not 100% clear on the $("#myMapLayers").one("panelbeforeopen", function() particularly the .one - what is the .one( method - guess I'll google that. The calculation logic seems straightforward. Many of us are now in the scramble to rewrite our Silverlight custom ArcGIS application to ArcGIS javascript - I decided to use ArcGIS js with jquery mobile just so I am mobile ready and device independent, even if right now, my main goal is to build our apps for standard laptop devices. Once again, thank you very much for helping.

window server 2008 r2 64 bit. The script has been in place for several years - no issue. It seems that since that KB was installed and server was restarted, we now see these loadlibrary errors BUT the script still runs as you can see from the log messages I issue using the python print command. Plus, the work that needs to get done is being done without issue. Just do not like to see all these weird msgs Seems like I see each line for each Path entry in environment variable (not 100% sure though) Any clues???

I hear you but I just don't mind using DEFAULTS (infact I prefer to use this so I won't have to change all my python scripts) Regardless, here is the blurb about the change in GEOMETRY_STORAGE starting in 10.1... http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/SQL_Server_DBTUNE_configuration_parameters/002q00000019000000/ ?Microsoft SQL Server Geometry type??This is Microsoft's spatial type for managing spatial data defined by coordinates on an arbitrary plane and for which the curvature of the Earth is not a consideration. This is the default spatial storage method of geodatabases in SQL Server beginning with ArcGIS 10.1. Keep the GEOMETRY_STORAGE parameter set to GEOMETRY if you want to store your spatial data in this format. If the GEOMETRY_STORAGE parameter is not set, the GEOMETRY type is assumed. So, I am really trying to get some discussion going about performance using this default. I have found that it is much slower than SDEBINARY. Perhaps, I am missing something that must be set or configured so that my performance using GEOMETRY storage is faster.

Hmm. That seems strange given that (at 10.1) default GEOMETRY_STORAGE is GEOMETRY. Anyway, I was able to get my featureclasses to use SDEBINARY simply by (1) Changing the DEFAULTS GEOMETRY_STORAGE config parameter to SDEBINARY (2) Re-running my Python script that creates the feature class(es) from our 3rd party data providers [In my case, I am lucky because my workflow includes this step to RECREATE all my feature classes]. Note: If what you are saying is true (Not sure why our ESRI technical guy did not alert me when I told him I was planning to run MIGRATE STORAGE to go from GEOMETRY to SDEBINARY) that migrate storage does not support migrating TO SDEBINARY, then folks should (a) Export data to some temporary file geodatabase, (b) Change DEFAULTS GEOMETRY_STORAGTE config param to SDEBINARY, then (c) copy all your data back to your geodatabase from the temporary file geodatabase. Just also thought I should SHARE with this community that I have found performance to improve by about 100% when I moved to SDEBINARY. My performance test was on a point featureclass of > 650,000 points drawn at full extent using the arcgis share as (wizard) to publish a map service, using the PREVIEW tool to indicate how many seconds it takes to load the map with this single feature class. Perhaps some ESRI geodatabase person can reply and tell us why this is the case. Curious why ESRI has decided to make default GEOMETRY_STORAGE = GEOMETRY for SQL SERVER when SDEBINARY is faster. Thanks, Anastasia

Hi Jennifer, Implemented this PrintTask but it always returns e.Error Unable to complete operation. Details: Error executing tool.: Layer "BaseLayer": Unable to connect to map server at http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Street_Map/MapServer. Failed to execute (Export Web Map). Failed to execute (Export Web Map Task). Can you tell me why? Note: The server that has ArcGIS Server installed has some weird rule that it cannot have INTERNET access. So when I login to that server I cannot hit http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Street_Map/MapServer. Thus, I am suspecting that the Print Tool rest service fails on this layer because it cannot connect to it. Can you confirm that the Print Tool must have INTERNET connections in order for it to print BaseMap layers from arcgisonline. Also, how can I test my Print Task using rest interface: http://wellsgis.slb.com:6080/arcgis/rest/services/Utilities/PrintingTools/GPServer/Export%20Web%20Map%20Task/execute Not sure what Web Map JSON I can paste into the box before clicking Execute Task (Get) I'd like to manual put a web map json from my internal map to at least test it out.

Okay, I've learned a bit... It is true that FEATUREDATAGRID3, that comes with the arcgis api version 3 does not work with Silverlight 4. [Infact, it stopped working since arcgis api 2.4) Now, when we say Silveright 4, we don't mean the 'runtime' that is an add-on to your browswer. We mean the Silverlight_Developer and Silverlight_Toolkit (and optionally ExpressionBlend stuff) that constitutes the Silverlight controls that you will have as references in your Visual Studio 2010 project. Proof: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/silverlight/samples/start.htm#FeatureDataGrid (these sampes are using arcgis api 2.4) Look at the FeatureDataGrid sample on Toolkit Controls from above link. It does not work (even if your runtime is Silverlight 5) because the application was built with the wrong combination of arcgis api and silverlight developer api. So if you have featuredatagrid3 in your own custom application You must install (upgrade all the silverlight items) that are required for Arcgsi api 3.0 (see installations page) http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/silverlight-api/concepts/index.html#/Installation/016600000005000000/ And you MUST target the correct version of Silverlight in your Visual Studio project.

I too am having problems since upgrading to FeatureDataGrid 3.0. I'm not quite clear on what you are doing: I have this in my xaml: <esriToolkit:FeatureDataGrid x:Name="resultFeatureDataGrid" MinHeight="200" MaxHeight="400" Margin="5" GridLinesVisibility="All" HeadersVisibility="All" ClipboardCopyMode="IncludeHeader" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" AutoGenerateColumns="True" Map="{Binding ElementName=Map}" GraphicsLayer="{Binding Layers.[MyGraphicsLayer], ElementName=Map}" RowStyle="{StaticResource DataGridRowStyle1}" /> MyGraphicsLayer gets filled with a QueryExecuteTaskComplete from the args.FeatureSet.. I would clear the MyGraphicsLayer and then loop through Features in Featureset and do graphicsLayer.Graphics.Add(graphic) But this does not work any longer.
