Hello I think this entry on StackOverflow should provide some help: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1028224/c-sharp-read-text-file-containing-data-delimited-by-tabs To give a brief outline on a simple scheme, suppose you have a file containing the following (\t indicates a tab) MyClass\tValue1\Value2 You would then read a line from the file, split it into its constituent elements. Then you could send these elements as arguments to a function "createObjectFromText" that looks at the first argument ("MyClass"), decides what object should be created, and then creates such an object from the other parameters. I hope this provides some guidance on creating objects from a textual source.

Hello everyone I have heard that ArcGIS Runtime will sometime in the future have 3D support? If so... What does it entail? (3D visualization I suppose?) When is it planned to be available? If this information is already available somewhere I apoligize for missing it. Best regards Alexander

The title really says everything, is there a support for ISO metadata, ISO 19115 & 19139? Are there any current plans to implement such support? Thank you.

Thank you Kerrie, I was using the Prerelease version which didn't include the symbology support. Now that I've gotten the real 1.0 release it'll go much better.

Hmm, the Android SDK seems to have some support for it. I don't know if this also means that it's supported in the WPF SDK. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgismobile/10.0/apis/android/help/#/Advanced_Symbology_Draw_and_Update_Symbol/011900000035000000/

Hello I'm wondering about the abilities of ArcGIS Runtime to use a database. I've read about it on the Resource Center but I have some questions I would like to recieve more clarification on. As I gather ArcGIS Runtime relies on 'ArcGIS for Server' to obtain data from a database, is this true? There's also something called "SDS", Spatial Data Server, what is this really? The pages on it doesn't make this clear. Another option to the above is probably to use ArcGIS Desktop, let it interact with a database, and generate a map package the client application can use, or am I wrong? Best Regards Alexander

Hello I'm wondering if it's possible to display/create/manipulate MIL-STD-2525B symbols and graphics in a ArcGIS Runtime application. ArcGIS Desktop could probably create map packages that contains such data, but is it possible for a application to be independent and do everything by itself? Best Regards Alexander

Hello Ron ArcGIS Runtime cannot directly read GeoTIFFs. It can't almost ready any "raw" data format actually. Data is primarily "delivered" in package files (.mpk/.tpk) so you could use ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 to create such a package containing the data you want. There are two other workarounds too, it can use a WMS service and read KML files. You could deliver your geotiffs through either a wms service or as (I assume) a GroundOverlay in a kml file.

Hello Mike What I would like to measure is the FPS of the Map. The reason is to determine how well it can handle a lot of displayed graphics and whatnot. It would be good then to get a somewhat accurate measurement.

I'm not really sure but perhaps a Drawobject could be used somehow? Maybe I've misunderstood what a Draw object is meant to do but it seems it's supposed to enable a user to draw graphics onscreen. In that case I don't think it's usable.

Hello I would like to do some performance measurement, one such measurement would be the achieved fps. However I have not identified any obvious way to do this. (Of course I could always try staring at the screen and count the updates, heh). If anyone has any ideas on how to measure the fps I'd be really happy to hear.:)
