I have had a similar issue with an ArcPy script that is part of an ongoing project. ArcPy script in a Notebook run in ArcGIS Pro. Mine is intended to automate cartographic production; it cycles through calc'ing some fields based on imports from an Excel file, then exporting a layout, wash rinse repeat. My issue was that not all the layers would draw/refresh in the automated map export. I confirm that the data has actually been updated, and if I refresh the layout manually in Pro, the symbols/labels update per calculated data. But during troubleshooting, often there was a single stubborn layer that would not show up in the automated layout export. For my first iteration of the script, I was never able to nail down exactly what the issue was, but I defeated it by including an extra map frame, hidden beneath the main map frame, and if that frame was active during the script run, things exported correctly (I know, bizarre 😅). Incorporating additional functionality into the script now and my old nemesis is back. This is a new thread since I last searched here, so following to see if anyone comes up with any insight on how to force the layout to refresh before exporting it. Initial iteration of script.

Adding my voice to the request for this feature! Having the ability to import like you can when building a Hub/Site would be great. I'd also just be happy with what I'm assuming would be the easier fix, just add maybe a dozen or so choices to the list of already available fonts (e.g. open sans, merriweather, merriweather sans etc). What's currently available is pretty limited. I'm currently building a variety of demo apps for my org to showcase ExB capabilities; the impact would be even better if I had a few more font choices. I'm currently limited to AGOL in my org at the moment so Developer version isn't an option...actually, looking at documentation right now and maybe it is; will continue investigating that option.

@AlixVezina I love that I can come across something I need to adjust in an Esri product, google and in 2 minutes find what is probably the easy button answer for it. Just adjusted this setting and will monitor today to see if it does the trick in my ExB app. Much appreciated; thanks @jcarlson for posting the question. Love this community.

Have noticed this too. Not a major problem for me but it would be nice if it didn't do this.

Just what I was looking for. I want a fullscreen background image + survey on top, but I want a scrolling page so I can have the footer (but the footer isn't intruding until one scrolls to the bottom). I need to remind myself that not all of the goodies are sitting in the widget pane (at least, I don't see "screen" there). Thanks!

I was probably configuring my custom zoom levels as you were typing your response, haha. Unfortunately custom zoom levels haven't quite done the trick. I haven't had time to dig deep into what is going on, but even when I get custom zoom levels configured so that it looks good at all zoom levels, I will come back to the app later and I will still see overlapping labels, or a step without labels at all. Only thing that's changed is potentially having the app on a different monitor/screen resolution or have a different zoom scale set in my browser (which really shouldn't be causing any difference, but, again, have not had time to dig in more). Still unsure of what is going on and why the logical configuration in Map Viewer gives me issues in Experience Builder.

I feel like Tags or Categories are your best bet here. Create either tags or categories (or both) for your various projects, and you can apply tags for multiple projects to a single item.

Was linked here from this question so thought I would post my solution for this here also. Just came across this issue today myself. Seeing as this isn't supported in Connect natively, I implemented a pretty simple workaround: an Experience Builder app with the Survey added to it. Started with a blank full screen app, added an image and stretched to full size, then plopped in the survey (Survey widget in AGOL; if in Enterprise and that's not available you can still add a survey in an embed or iframe, whatever the widget's called). I will be doing a bit more to this but here is the basic layout. Obviously this is a solution targeted at web browser surveys.

YEEEESSSSSS!!!! I was slamming my head against the wall trying to use repeats for an image question on a table with attachments enabled (old way, I guess). I just needed to find THIS information about adding a single image question, with attachments enabled (not a custom table with a relationship class I created) and using the multiline appearance. SLICK! (And I've looked at enough Esri blogs and posts and forums over the last day that I already knew, when I did find the answer, it would probably be in content from Ishmael). THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

I'm working on an Experience Builder app (AGOL) that uses maps with multiple label classes. The point of the label classes is simply to have bigger labels at larger scales (since I have not found a way to have labels scale automatically with the map as one can set for point features--if I have missed this, someone please point out how to set it!). My issue is that, when I set my label classes so they work in Map Viewer with no gaps or overlap, I'm getting overlapping labels in my ExB app. Current settings for my 3 label classes are: Countries > Country Country > States States > Room Works smoothly and looks great in Map Viewer. But in my ExB app I get: There is overlap between both Lg and Med and Med and Sm label classes. I can finagle the label classes so e.g. instead of Country being the start of one class and end of another, I end one class with Countries and start another with the next step down...works for one class but in another it leaves a gap. And then of course I have gaps in the classes in Map Viewer (and whatever other apps would use the same scales as Map Viewer; I'm assuming this is caused by a difference in zoom level steps between Map Viewer and ExB). I've poked around Esri Community and the interwebz but have not hit on a fix or any related posts for this. Wondering if I am just suffering the consequences of an undercaffeinated morning or holiday fatigue, and/or if there is a simple fix/configuration change I am overlooking to avoid this. Thanks in advance! Update: The range of custom label class visibility ranges I came up with that are working in ExB are: 50,000,000 > 18,000,000 12,000,000 > 8,000,000 6,000,000 > 1 It seems weird that I should have to build in big gaps in the label class visibility ranges in order to avoid label overlap in Experience Builder...?

Noticing this in 3.1.2...cannot update Pro on work machine to 3.1.3 to test. If I remember this evening will check on personal machine.

@KennethKellett, @wayfaringrob, I feel like most if not all of the options in the snip from illustrator are available in the Element properties pane (or by using guides or snapping) in some form or another (the topic of this thread notwithstanding). I'm hyper-OCD and need everything in my layouts to be perfectly aligned, and I have very little reason to complain about the functionality of Pro layouts aside from the topic at hand. @MarkJacobi1, I believe you could achieve the functionality you are looking for in your example with the straight text element vice the rectangle text element; straight text keeps the box exactly the size needed to contain the text in it (but will not wrap dynamically; it will only wrap if you explicitly insert a break in the text in the element pane):

I commented on the original question back in 2020 and came back to see if there was a workaround available yet, since the issue still exists in Pro 3.1. Adding my use case for this functionality here, in addition to the one I posted there. I am automating standardized cartographic product production in Pro via a Python script. All maps will be exported from a single layout, which has a title and a date as shown below. Sometimes the map title will be longer; sometimes it will be shorter; in cases where it is longer I would like it to wrap multiple lines, so I'm using the rectangle (as opposed to straight) text element. Emulating the layout for the manual process I am replacing, I would like the title arranged just above the date stamp below it (screenshot below), regardless of whether it wraps at 1, 2 or 3 lines. I could achieve this if I could vertically align the text at the bottom of my box. As it is, if the title is only 1 line, there will be a big gap between date and title (smaller gap if it is 2 lines), and if I don't implement a workaround I know the client will wonder why the layout looks awkward for short titles. For the time being I will probably implement a two (or three) text element solution, pythonically checking the length of the title string for a given map and then toggling the appropriate element's visibility on and replacing the text for that element. Or guess I could just change a single text element's height pythonically too, depending on string length. Hope this helps! Look forward to seeing this implemented in the future. I do understand that this is (probably in most cases) a minor cosmetic issue so may not be the highest priority. But glad it is on the list of fixes under consideration; I routinely encounter instances where it will be great to have available.
