Is there an existing sample that allows user to type in coordinates in any of the following formats and then display the same coordinates in all of the following formats? DMS, DD, Lat/Lon, State Plane, and UTM. Thanks

Thanks Chris! That works perfectly for the dissolve_field. When I try to set the statistics_fields like this DissolveTool.statistics_fields = "instln_id,{FIRST}" I get this error: Failed to execute. Parameters are not valid. ERROR 000315: Statistic field instln_id must NOT be of type TEXT unless methods are FIRST or LAST Failed to execute (Dissolve). John

When I attempt to define more than one dissolve_field I get an error. If I define only one, it runs just fine. The documentation http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/Dissolve/00170000005n000000/ indicates that the use of multiple dissolve_fields and/or statistics_fields is possible but I've tried every combination of input parameters that I can think of but so far, it only works with a single field. Below is the VB.Net code I've used with the message (error) below each. Has anyone successfully implemented this using more that one dissolve_field and/or statistics_fields? CODE THAT FAILS: Dim DissolveTool As ESRI.ArcGIS.DataManagementTools.Dissolve = New Dissolve DissolveTool.in_features = wksSource & "\" & fClassFloorArea_S DissolveTool.out_feature_class = wksDestination & "\" & fClassTemp DissolveTool.dissolve_field = "instln_id, facil_id" DissolveTool.multi_part = True RunTool(GP, DissolveTool, Nothing) ERROR MESSAGE: Failed to execute. Parameters are not valid. ERROR 000728: Field instln_id, facil_id does not exist within table Failed to execute (Dissolve). CODE THAT WORKS: Dim DissolveTool As ESRI.ArcGIS.DataManagementTools.Dissolve = New Dissolve DissolveTool.in_features = wksSource & "\" & fClassFloorArea_S DissolveTool.out_feature_class = wksDestination & "\" & fClassTemp DissolveTool.dissolve_field = "facil_id" DissolveTool.multi_part = True RunTool(GP, DissolveTool, Nothing) SUCCESSFUL MESSAGE: Executing: Dissolve ... I'm using the latest. 10.0, Service Pack 3. I found another issue. When creating a multiversioned view, the sde command "sdetable -o create_mv_view" , it creates the view and among other things, it also adds three triggers named v32_delete, v32_insert and v32_update. These triggers contain a call to the stored procedure SDE_get_globals. This stored procedure doesn't exist. At least in my two running SDE databases. When ever I attempt to insert into the multiversioned view, I get an error that says cannot find stored procedure <database>.<schema>.SDE_get_globals. Has anyone else created multiversioned views and if so, do you have this stored procedure?

Hello, I am attempting to update a versioned sde table using the following steps in T SQL. EXEC dbo.set_current_version 'dbo.DEFAULT'; EXEC dbo.edit_version 'dbo.DEFAULT',1 ; Delete from dbo.code_mv; EXEC dbo.edit_version 'dbo.DEFAULT', 2; I'm using a multiversioned view as described at this ArcGIS Resource Center page: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#/in_SQL_Server/006z0000001r000000/ Except I want to delete all records and insert all new ones into the DEFAULT view. The problem is that the table upon which the multiversioned view is based is not being updated after the above steps are completed. The View is updated, but not the table. Step 8 from the web page above indicates that a post and reconcile must be performed using ArcGIS Desktop. Can anyone tell me how to get the data from the multiversioned view to the sde table using SQL or .Net? Thanks, John

Thank you for your reply Dominique, The problem I'm having is due to TextBlocks being dynamically being generated with each one being assigned a different value by binding to the PropertyPath. I cannot figure out how to test each textblock as it is created in order to set it's color based on the attribute value (i.e. if the value <= 50 the color = green else the color = red). I have written a ValueConverter that returns a brush based on the value passed into it. I just don't know how to get the value to pass into it. Please see code below: private PopupWindow CreateTipWindow(FeatureLayerInfo lyrInfo, List<string> outFields) { Dictionary<string, string> aliases = new Dictionary<string, string>(); foreach (Field f in lyrInfo.Fields) { if (f.Name != lyrInfo.DisplayField) aliases.Add(f.Name, f.Alias); } PopupWindow tipWindow = new PopupWindow() { ShowArrow = false, ShowCloseButton = false, }; tipWindow.Content = CreateFeatureTipContent(outFields, aliases); tipWindow.Background = this.myTaskbarWidget.Background; Binding titleBinding = new Binding() { Path = new PropertyPath(string.Format("[{0}]", lyrInfo.DisplayField)) }; tipWindow.SetBinding(PopupWindow.TitleProperty, titleBinding); if (lyrInfo.Name == "Building") tipWindow.TitleFormat = "Installation ID" + ": {0}"; else tipWindow.TitleFormat = lyrInfo.Name + ": {0}"; return tipWindow; } private FrameworkElement CreateFeatureTipContent(List<string> fields, Dictionary<string, string> aliases) { StackPanel stackBox = new StackPanel() { Margin = new Thickness(4, 1, 4, 1), Orientation = Orientation.Vertical }; foreach (string field in fields) { if (aliases.Keys.Contains(field)) { TextBlock valueBlock = new TextBlock() { TextWrapping = TextWrapping.NoWrap }; Binding valueBinding = new Binding() { Path = new PropertyPath(string.Format("[{0}]", field)), StringFormat= aliases[field] + ": {0}" }; valueBlock.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, valueBinding); stackBox.Children.Add(valueBlock); } } return stackBox; } private void MapControl_MouseClick(object sender, Map.MouseEventArgs mouseEventArgs) {

I have implemented the "Configurable Silverlight Template Viewer for ArcGIS 2.1" (here's the link http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=67f62c5c30cc4b3ca942068e404c442c ) and I need to change the background color of a bound Label in the map tip ( I changed the TextBlock to a label). I understand the IValueConverter pretty well but I'm not sure how to read an attribute value from the binding in order to determine the color to use.

I am experiancing the same issue with one very important difference. I am running SQL Server 2008 64 bit and creating spatial views using sde commands is not supported (see SDE documentation page ArcGIS\ArcSDE\Documentation\Admin_Cmd_Ref\Support_files\admincmdref.htm ) so, if developing a web mapping solution using the ArcGIS API for silverlight (uses REST), it is not possible to display data unless it is in one big gigantic feature class containing all of the attributes that you might want to associate with a feature. Is this by design? If so, I think it is a terrible design!
