University student registration for the 2020 Esri User Conference

Any student (over 18, at any university, in any subject, worldwide) can attend the 2020 Esri User Conference, an online event, for free. In previous years, university student registration to the face to face event in San Diego, was about $100.


This year's event includes plenary sessions, technical workshops, user sessions, an Expo, and unique networking events. It will take place July 13-15.


Below are the steps to register. You might want to preview the process via this video first.




  1. Go to and click on Register.
  2. Log in with an ArcGIS account.  (You'll need an ArcGIS account that allows access to websites. Review this post to find out if you have one. You probably do! )
  3. Check the box "I don’t have a customer number.”
  4. Under Conference Rates, choose Virtual UC Student.
    • You will see the message “This is a full-conference virtual registration available to Students Only. Please send proof of enrollment to”
    • Proof of enrollment includes a photo/screenshot of your most recent course schedule or student ID card (with a date of issue or expiration date).
  5. Complete the Personal Information section.
  6. Review and accept the policies and submit your registration.
