GregoryEnglishAAAE makes an EXCELLENT point! I've had the iPad shut down on me on very hot days. They are rather unstable in high heat. And as other's have explained, DJI is still the drone industry leader and their controllers run Android. It is cumbersome to have to attach the iPad to the controller. And the reason we went with Site Scan over Pix4D Mapper or Cloud is because we can bring our GIS Portal web maps into the Site Scan flight planner to create the boundaries of our mission with our assets showing up on the screen. The imagery in the background may be too blurry to properly lay out and miss a tower, but when we can see our GIS assets and know where that tower is in our GIS data, we can avoid it. Being able to bring our GIS enterprise data into flight planner was a huge selling point for us. we can't bring our web maps into Pix4D Capture or any other 3rd party flight planning apps...that I know of. And finally, yes, we could fly our missions in a 3rd party app, but Site Scan purports to be a complete package and offers fleet management. I was blown away when my batteries automagically showed up in the fleet management section!!!! That is freaking awesome that I didn't have to enter the serial number or anything about the batteries. And apparently I have a preference for battery #2!!! The fleet management capabilities when we fly our missions with flight planner helps us make sure to rotate through our batterie and tracks other maintenance metrics for us.

Hello, I work for a rather large company that spans the United States. Does Site Scan have any reporting capabilities so I could do something like export a list of all the projects currently in Site Scan and distribute it to the managers of the various regions of the country? When we first open Site Scan Manager, we are presented with a map. I'm the Admin, but not all projects by all pilots show up on my map, only my collections and projects I process for people show up on my map. It would be nice if ALL projects in Site Scan showed up on my map at least. But what I really need is just a list of all the projects that are currently in there. We've been working hard this last year laying the foundation for an internal drone program, so the number of projects in Site Scan is going to very rapidly grow to where manually keeping track on a separate spreadsheet is going to become very burdensome. I may see that a new Project has been opened, but when pilots re-fly these areas repeatedly for construction monitoring, I can very quickly lose sight of all the collections and dates. Thank you,

Thank you for the quick response. Here is the error. And here is an article on How To: Upload design and engineering files to Site Scan Manager for ArcGIS: How To: Upload design and engineering files to Site Scan Manager for ArcGIS (esri.com) Reading that article more carefully, looks like it is assumed the "CAD file" has been exported to SHAPEFILE....so is not really a native CAD DWG file anymore. Oh ESRI, I do love you but so often the materials presented make things look much MUCH easier than they actually are. Also following up, we were able to simplify/make smaller and export to .dxf to bring the drawing into Manager. I could still use help learning the file upload size limits. I can't find it in the blogs nor FAQ page I found.

We are getting an error message that a DWG file is too large to upload into Site Scan Manager and I cannot locate maximum files sizes in any of the documentation.

We just figured this out for our environment. We installed the free ArcGIS plugin to Civil 3D and we download the ortho photos from Site Scan onto the network but manage them through Image Server. First thing is use the Coordinate System button on the ArcGIS ribbon that is installed into Civil 3D and set the coordinate system to the State Plane coordinate system the DWG file is in. Then using the Add data button on that ribbon, add layer as URL and paste the imager service REST URL into the field. Everything lines up and we do not have to deal with file sizes.

I think I have the same problem. I'm just using a mosaic dataset of TIF files and trying to use the Build Multidimensional Info tool but I get a 9999 error. I'm referencing this blog: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/imagery/create-multidimensional-raster-data/ And watched this embedded YouTube video where they put 8 Landsat scenes from a different year that cover the same area into a Mosaic Dataset and are defining the variable that can be used in something like the multidimensional raster function. https://youtu.be/HFbTFTnsMWM Bummer you posted this over a year ago and no one has been able to help.

Yes, there is a definite need to be able to delete ground control sets. I wasn't paying attention and some fields didn't map correctly and now the GCPs are showing up in the wrong locations. Thank you EMRCWA for this post and how you just relabel the set as bad/wrong, etc.

I too just want to add we also only have 1 iPad and multiple pilots with our own laptops. Flight planning within Manager with our Portal layers and other REST services is needed on our laptops. Glad to hear it is on the road map.

Yes, this in Site Scan Manager flight planning. I have been able to add portal maps to the Site Scan Flight Planning app, but I would like to be able to do all my flight planning on the desktop and have my operational layers so that I can define my collection boundary with my features on the map.

Hello, We see that the Site Scan Flight planning app supports the Matrice 300 RTK drone. However, it comes with a "Smart Controller" and we don't see how to use an iPad with Site Scan Flight planner. What are the additional components...or alternate controller...we need to purchase to use our enterprise drones within Site Scan Flight planning? Thank you, Angie

Hello, I'm still learning and banging around trying to learn how to use Image server for multi temporal data layers. I'm utilizing/trying to follow the Mosaic Dataset workflow documentation (which may be different from your workflow), I THINK that building the footprint has taken care of this issue for me? When you build the footprint, you can choose to build it based on Radiometry so therefore exclude No Data areas. Again, I'm new and still don't fully grasp the nuances. Good luck!!

Hello, my question is along the lines of the last three posts from Lisa Merkhofer, Scott Maginity, and Aubree Vaughn. I'm working in portal and created a web app for non-gis users for our organization. The apps give us extra tools via the widgets where web maps have limited functionality. The biggest drawback to the Webapps is that users can't save their sessions. I too have the drawing widget and add data widget in my web app and would like the non-gis users to be able to save their additions to the base web app. I guess the base question to all of this is what is meant in the description of saving annotation? Thank you, Angie

I'm using ArcGIS Pro 2.4.3 and ArcMap 10.7.1 and I thought these versions can read zLAS files without having to unzip them. When I put a zLAS file into a LAS Dataset (LASD) everything looks normal (I open the properties and see the classification codes as well as the number of points in each code. I can bring the LASD into a map and zoom to the level that the points become visible. I can filter so I'm just seeing ground points then change the symbology from elevation to classification and and watch the points change from blues and yellows to brown for ground). However, when I use the Las Dataset to Raster tool and choose the elevation field to create a Digital Terrain Model (DTM)/bare-earth raster - the output is no data:( I know this because I use the identify tool and click on a pixel and the value is No Data. To further demonstrate, I choose the symbology for the DTM and choose to display no data cells as red and the entire raster turns red. Do we have to use the Convert LAS geoprocessing tool and choose as compression type "None" to "unzip" the file and save it as a LAS file? Because when I use that tool, then use the LAS file it creates, input that LAS file into a LAS Dataset, I can use the LAS Dataset as Raster tool and it creates the DTM raster. Thank you in advance for taking time to answer this question. Angie

Hello, I'm trying to use the Coordinate Conversion Widget (CC Widget) in an enterprise Portal Web AppBuilder app. I'm a GIS Analyst so have a lot of permissions in Portal so I see the CC Widget with the 5-6 different coordinate formats along with additional buttons next to each box to drop a marker, copy to clip board, change settings, etc. However, a regular non-named user only sees the coordinate boxes...he does not get the additional marker, copy, settings, etc. buttons in his dialog box when he launches the tool in the web app. Is there a setting our IT GIS staff who administers the Portal needs to set so that a non-named user can see these options. The drop a marker to get a coordinate is the reason I added this widget to the webApp. Thanks!

Hello, I thought this might be a good thread to add the following question to: I attended the Extend the Reach of Your GIS Seminar and saw a really cool demonstration where they linked the photo of a national flag hosted on Wikipedia to be the image for the pop-up ...does anyone know how to do this? So basically, you click on the country point (embassy in the demo) and the pop-up has some basic info on the country and an image of the flag. This is the wikipedia page with all the sovern state flags: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallery_of_sovereign-state_flags The indivicual flag image URLs are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Canada.svg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Mexico.svg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_the_United_States.svg So I created a simple layer with a dot in the US, Canada and Mexico and in the {Country} field, populated the country name the same way the wikipedia image is named ("Canada", "Mexico", "United_States") So then in the Configure Pop-up window, in the add media portion, i clicked to add an image and in the URL (and link field) I tried: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_the_{Country}.svg I even tried <a href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_{Country}.svg' Did anyone else see this demo or can figure out how to make this happen? Thanks
