Sorry but that solution still doesn't solve the question. How is one suppose to do this with spatial dataframes (pandas or esri)??

I still think Esri should fix this bug!! I don’t like it as a UX.

@RichardJShepherd Would be great in SmartForms. If a field calculation in Arcade errors out it locks up the SmartForm and refuses to allow the user to submit the feature because having a calculation on a field there makes that field a required field. Unlike in Survey123, there is no "Save Draft" option.

Have you looked in the item's JSON data? If you look at it in AGO Assistant or using the Python API get_data function, you might find the folder id.

Our client isn't able to reliably use StoryMaps for presentations because wifi is often slow or unreliable. As nice as StoryMaps look, the application becomes unusable when videos and data fail to load. The client now prefers PowerPoint presentations because of this limitation. They want to know if ESRI can make StoryMaps offline capable, where you can export a self-contained file with all needed content? If not for all parts of the StoryMap, then at least for images, videos, and express maps?

You can use get_data to return the current json on an item, then edit the json and use update as shown above. Worked for me!

This helped me! Use get_data to pull back json, then update your json, and feed it into the "text" property, and do an update on the web map: # parse it a format that can be uploaded to your webmap
item_properties = {"text": json.dumps(data)}
# 'Commit' the updates to the Item (web map)
wm.update(item_properties=item_properties) https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-api-for-python-questions/update-web-map-layer-symbology/td-p/1083264

It looks like you've hard-coded the layer index to [0] so it seems to be only updating the first layer every time you loop?

@PeterGoedbloed1 I got this error as well. I don't know how you figured that out, but you were totally right. I moved all the layers in the web map out of the group layer and it worked!! Thank you!!

@TonghuiMing Thank you for the follow up! Sorry I didn't contact you, I didn't see a place for DMs and we ended up using a work-around (choosing individual layers). This is great though, thanks!
