I hadn't thought of exporting to create an example...obviously. I ran the export tool and compared the two exported CSV files to the two I created. I had the Field Groups csv correct but not the Contingent Values csv. Now it makes sense. Very helpful, thank you. Regards, Jay

Hi, I am building a contingency table(?) in ArcGIS Pro 3.4.3. I started by following the contingency help online and watching some short videos. I have created about 100 contingencies manually by choosing the values for each field in Contingent Values table pane. This is working but I have 300+ more to go. I have a csv file with five columns of values that relate to each other: name, genus, species, etc. I created coded-value domains for each of these columns, with the code and description values being identical. Instead of manually building the remaining 300+ contingencies, I would like to use the Import Contingent Values GP tool (I'm assuming this tool will complete the creation steps for me). Can anyone share an example of the two CSV files the tool requires (screenshots are fine)? It is not clear to me, from the online help, what the content of these two files should look like, i.e., column headers and values in the columns. Many thanks in advance. Regards, Jay

Hello Mike, Thank you for the quick response and information. Here is the error message: EXCEPTION Traceback (most recent call last): File "driveletter\myfoldernetwork\StormWater\Stormwater Utility Network Foundation V1_4\Toolboxes\UtilityDataManagementSupport.atbx\udms_pt\common\wrappers.py", line 161, in wrapper f = func(*args, **kwargs) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ File "driveletter\myfoldernetwork\StormWater\Stormwater Utility Network Foundation V1_4\Toolboxes\UtilityDataManagementSupport.atbx\udms_pt\gptools\tools.py", line 117, in run include = [t.table for t in AbstractPackage().package_tables(include_optional=True) if not t.is_data_table] Downloading the updated tools from GitHub got us past this error. Hello. We are in the process of migrating to the Utility Network for our water, stormwater, and sanitary sewer utilities. We have spun up an Enterprise 11.3 test environment and are using ArcGIS Pro 3.4.3. Following great advice from another post, we are following the SS Foundation 2.2 online workflow and adapting it to the SW Foundation 1.4. It has been moving along, but questions arise as does confusion. My colleague has been working the SS foundation, which is progressing, while I work the SW foundation with less success. In comparing the two DataMapping.xls tables, we noticed the SS table has several additional worksheets when compared to the SW table. Missing from the SW table are the Info, Associations, Mapping Table, and Source Types worksheets. We assume this has to do with the SS foundation being newer than the SW foundation. Can these sheets be manually added and populated with stormwater related information (assuming we can figure out that information)? Or do we move along with the current SW DataMapping.xls table with the existing worksheets? Following along in the SS Foundation online help, Data Migration Tutorial....Migrate Data.....Create Migration Workspace step, we ran the Create Migration Workspace GP tool in the SW Pro project, which failed. I recall then having to download a newer version of the toolbox from GitHub (Utility Data Management Support 3.3.3) and installed it. Ran the tool again, worked but received a warning about a missing column in the DataMapping.xls....Data Mappings work sheet, a column named Source Subtype Name. I added the column with no values in the cells, and ran the tool again, succeeded with no error message. As part of the three key outputs noted in the tutorial (modified asset package, workspace, and csv), no 'assocations.csv' file was created. I don't know what to do about the missing .csv. Has there been an update to the stormwater foundation Data Dictionary? Thanks for any help and advice, Jay

Hello. I have been working my way through the Stormwater Utility Network Foundation v1.4 in setting up the test utility network. We deployed the solution, etc. a while ago. I am now following the Sanitary Sewer UN Foundation workflows, in particular the Data Migration Tutorial (found online), for the Stormwater foundation, as another post. Today, I noticed several maps in the Pro project had broken data source connections. Stormwater Data Audit, Network Editor, and Utility Network maps source the Stormwater_UtilityNetwork.geodatabase, and appear fine (there are no (!) in the maps' ToCs). The Stormwater Network Viewer map is sourcing a fake inaccessible service (as per the Tasks information) so that is explained. However, the Stormwater Simple Network map is sourcing the Stormwater_UtilityNetwork.gdb. At one time, I saw this (at least I think I did) *.gdb in the Pro Catalog listed right above the *.geodatabase (I think in the Folders...Databases....folder). Now it appears this *.gdb has vanished. I did not delete it. The current data source path is shown as: C:\temp\1_33Cert\Storm_Sol\Databases\Stormwater_UtilityNetwork.gdb. The .gdb is not found at this location. I did a search for Stormwater_Utility_Network.gdb and found a similar named one, stormwater_utilitynetwork.gdb (all lower case text), in my C:\Users\me\OneDrive - agency\Documents\ArcGIS\Packages. I believe this .gdb is part of one of the learn.gis.com UN foundation tutorials. I have deleted this tutorial folder in the past to reset and retake the tutorial. I don't see how the two can be related, and if deleting the tutorial folder deleted the .gdb in question. Can I simply repoint the Stormwater Simple Network map layers to the Stormwater_UtilityNetwork.geodatabase to restore the data source connections? Regards, Jay

Good morning Mike, Thank you again for the information. We are going to "reboot" our Stormwater UN configuration and follow the sanitary sewer configuration workflow. Thank you for the blog link, which I have accessed before. The blog contains a lot of great information and is a top-notch resource, but it can be a challenge to identify direct, relevant topics to watch, work through, etc. Have a great day. Sincerely, Jay

Mike, Thank you, this is good information. I forgot to ask, in the Stormwater Foundation do we complete the prototype single user task or skip to the Enterprise task as we have an ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 test setup? Our thinking is we go ahead with the single use for data check and cleanup, then make the jump to the Enterprise setup. Again thank you for the information. Sincerely, Jay

Hello! We are in the initial stages of setting up and migrating our stormwater utility to the Utility Network. We are also doing the same with sanitary sewer. Can we use the GP tools available in Sewer V2.2 in the Stormwater V1.4 solution? I am using ArcGIS Pro 3.4.3. If one had to pick the online 'how to' resources to set up and migrate to the UN for stormwater, what should I choose? Some of the resources are now 4+ years old. Thanks, Jay

Hi, we are working on setting up the Utility Network. I am using the Stormwater Utility Network Foundation, Stormwater, version 1.4. ArcGIS Pro 3.4.3, cloned environment, untools installed, Advanced Editing license, ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 (as a test environment). I am working through the Foundation Tasks. EGDB was set up earlier. Open Project and Remove Sample Data task, tool has failed to open error. Create the Utility Network, Stage the Utility Network, tool has failed to open error. I have searched Esri help, GeoNet, etc. What am I doning wrong? I am unable to figure this one out. Where can I find UN help that is aligned with Foundation v1.4? Thanks, Jay

Hi Alfred, Thank you for this. I am doing what you demonstrated regarding joining and calculating. I manually selected batches of rows and field calculating on just those selected (priority as you mentioned). When I select a larger number of records, say for example, 3,000+, is when I see the behavior of not completing the calculations in all 3,000+ records. Richard's post is worth exploring with the agency that owns the feature service. Regards, Jay

Hello, thank you for your help. I am using the Calculate Field tool 'as is,' Python expression, but no additional code block. The joined table comes from a feature service from another agency (200K+ records). The input table comes from a feature class in our EGDB, having about 17,000+ records, so 17,000+ of the joined table records are joined to the input table. I assumed once joined, we can operate in 'isolation' on those features alone, and not be subject to server or other limitations. I don't know if the agency has any sort of limit on the number of returned records on their side. The feature service is quite responsive when added to a map in Pro or a web map. Again, thank you for your help in this matter. Regards, Jay

Hello! I am running Calculate Field on an attribute table field in a sde EGDB feature class. The feature class was joined to a feature service. I am pulling values from the service field (JOIN table) to the corresponding field in the INPUT table of the EGDB feature class to update the current data. There are 17,538 records. The process takes less than 10 minutes. I noticed of the 17,538 records, 11,941 records now show <Null> in the field, where valid data once existed. As a test I selected 290 records having null values in the field and ran calculate field. The process completed and the field in the Input table was updated with the correct information from the Join field. Is there a limit on the number of records the calculate field tool can complete, and the rest of the records receive a null value? I am using Pro 3.4.3. One child version on the feature dataset. Many thanks in advance, Jay
