Does anyone have an update for this request? I have Text Widgets with dynamic data where the Count() does not update on the underlying data connection update. Refresh intervals are set to 0.5 min on both the web map and in Experience Builder under the data section. Map is updating fine, but not the text widgets that are connected to views of the map. It's disheartening that this has been an issue for years and is still not resolved. I'm wanting to make Experiences for our Emergency Management folks, but it sounds like it's not up to the task. --Keith

If map viewer is going to be the public face of ESRI GIS then having more sophisticated polygon labeling is critical. How do I get users off arcMap and webappbuilder if the new option is so limited?

I changed the reboot order and also installed the arcGIS server Hosted Services Reboot patch. We are using Enterprise 10.9.1. Everything seems to be working this morning, but I couldn't tell you which fixed the issue.

I'm going to give this reboot order a try; although, I just noticed that ESRI pushed a new ArcGIS Server patch for Hosted Services Reboot. That sounds promising...

Hi @WileyBogren . I'm having this exact same issue while copying a parcel fabric from file geoDB to SQL (sde) Enterprise geoDB. What was the work around solution you came up with? It seems to be hanging on the parcel_lines (cogo) layer. Thanks! --Keith

I'm running Pro 3.1 but am not seeing the option to write temp files somewhere other than my c: drive. Can you point us to the new option that has been implemented? I searched through the what's new documentation and didn't find anything for 'temp' or 'directory'. This is a needed function since I cannot currently export large tile packages from ArcPro even if all the data lives on the network. Thanks @AmeliaBradshaw --Keith

After really struggling with this for the past year, I think I have finally figured out the problem. Turns out our IT department was restarting the SQL server at the same time as the Portal server. Since the vast majority of our services are reference based to the SQL database, this was really confusing the services. The solution was to move the Enterprise reboot sequence to after the SQL server reboot. I'm currently doing SQL server, web adapter machine, arcgis server, datastore, and then portal. It's been working flawlessly for 3 weeks, so I'm hopeful this is fixed. I also wrote a python script to look at the service REST endpoints and look for the reference layer. If it can't find the database layer name it writes that to a log file. Really helpful to determine if my particular kind of service issue is happening (service started, but data layer not connected). --Keith

Hi Ravi, Did you ever get a reply to this question from ESRI? Our IT is rebooting our Enterprise servers 5x a week and I think it's causing some instability with some services not restarting. I don't understand why, but a few ArcPro created services just don't restart. Do you think the boot order matters for Server/Portal/Datastore? This is 10.8.1 Thanks, --Keith

Hi Josh. It certainly feels like a bug. I'm experimenting with changing the service refresh to every 6 hours and I also installed something on the server called a 'restore reliability patch'. Sounds promising. I'd love to see your script to restart the services. I have done a little arcgis.gis in python, so should be able to integrate it. Thanks! --Keith

It is checked, but I hadn't seen that option before. I changed the recycle rate to every 6 hours, but still, it shouldn't be dropping the data connections that often. It's also weird that it's only happening with the arcPro created services (I have an older arcPro service that seems fine). Maybe a bug in the recent arcPro release? Thanks.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that these are all Dedicated Instance Pools. I haven't experimented with the other type yet.

Thanks, yes I checked the server resources and there are no issues there. I do have one arcPro map service that hasn't been giving me issues. The only difference is that one has feature access enabled (it also has a feature service) and the original document is saved on the network somewhere. I don't think it needs this though... I'll start a ticket if I don't get this figured out today or tomorrow.

Hello, we have been experiencing strange behavior from Enterprise 10.8.1 map services that were published from ArcPro (2.8.3). Seemingly randomly, the layer connection associated with the map service disappears and is not accessible from the rest endpoint. The map service rest endpoint has the layer heading, but no links to layers. If I stop and restart the service, the link reappears and the map services start to work normally again. Unfortunately, I don't know when this happens until someone complains that the service is not working. Also, there are a lot of them, so I cannot keep stopping and starting them to make them work. My map services that I created from arcMap don't seem to have this problem. I'm not really interested in going back to arcMap, so I would appreciate a solution for arcPro. I'm opening blank arcPro projects, opening the layers I want in my map service, and then right clicking the layer -> sharing -> share as web layer. I'm not including a feature service, and leaving the data on the source Enterprise geoDB (SDE). This has worked for us for years, so I'm not sure what is going on. Could the SQL server be dropping the connection to the Enterprise server? What would I look for in the log files? Thanks. --Keith
