You might want to check out the webinars that the NGS has been giving.
Another change is that NGS plans to standardize on meters and (international) foot, so no more official support of the US survey foot. There's currently a comment period going on until 02 December 2019. You can read about it (and comment if you want) here.
NGS, working with state agencies, plans to release a new set of State Plane zones. Some states may also opt to update their county / low-distortion projection zones or create a new set.
Here at Esri, we are waiting for NGS to release transformation information which will likely include files so we can make sure that we support the format(s) and are ready to include them when the final versions are released. Currently beta versions should be available next year.

Hi Melita,
We are currently having a discussion internally about orchestrating this transition. Has there been any update on releasing the files? And will they be released for both ArcMap and Pro or just Pro?
Erik
Hi Erik,
I'm sorry for the delay in responding. There has been no update in the release of files/test data from NGS. However, NGS has said that they are going to delay the adoption of NSRS / 2022 for a few years. See Delayed Release of Modernized NSRS | New Datums | National Geodetic Survey and Track Our Progress - New Datums - National Geodetic Survey . The summary is that the official adoption will likely occur in 2025, although they'll keep the 2022 name.
Meanwhile, we implemented for ArcGIS 10.8.1 and ArcGIS Pro 2 a variant of Lambert conformal conic projection that will be used by NGS for the new state plane and other zones. It was already supported but awkward to use. We're still following NGS closely.
