Sorry in advance for asking this but I'm stuck on trying to figure out a simple thing. I want to view the fields of an attribute table in alphabetical order. Is this possible? There are many columns and I don't want to have to arrange them manually. Thank you!

There are no existing tools, but you can sort the fields in the table's field view, but it doesn't persist in the table view

Thanks, Dan. Are you referring to sorting field values? I know that is possible but I am asking about sorting the names of the fields into alphabetical order.

Anita, no, just the actual field names, but you can't see the data sorted by field

Can you tell me how to do that? I can't figure it out. Thank you!

If you're working with Enterprise geodatabases (i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) you could create a Database View to do this but the DB View would be read-only (i.e. not editable) but the underlying data would be.
