ArcGIS Pro fails to connect to the “root” hard drive (D partition),

I couldn’t figure out why the ArcGIS Pro fails to connect to the “root” hard drive (D partition) the same way the ArcMap does.

What might be the issue here?

Thank you

Best

Jamal

AGP can make connections to root directories (C:, D:, etc.).  As show in the screen grab, right-click the Folders item, select the Add Folder Connection in the Catalog Pane, navigate to Computer on the left side of the Add Folder Connection UI, select the root drive you wish - C: for example - then click OK.  It's now added to your AGP project.  Further if you want AGP to remember the root drive in all new AGP projects, right click the root directory in the Catalog Pane and select Add to New Projects.  Now AGP will always remember to add the root drive to all new projects.

Thanks Robert.

Could you please comment on my post above (Sep 10, 2019 2:38 AM)? I addition to that, why is it not possible to get the connections remembered by default rather than keeping them related to the aprx?

You're welcome Jamal.  It is possible to get connections remembered by Default.  Once you build the connection in the Catalog Pane, right click on the connection and select "Add to New Projects".  All new projects going forward will have the connections listed in the Catalog Pane.

Many settings that are by-user in ArcMap are by-project in Pro, this was a design decision they made. However, you can make a connection available to all projects by wither making that connection a favorite or choosing to add that connection to all new projects.

Many thanks guys for the help.

It is interesting to know that “Many settings that are by-user in ArcMap are by-project in Pro”.
