Why do my standard errors differ?

Hi

What is the difference between the standard Error calculated using GA Layer to Points and the standard error in Cross Validation?  I noticed that during my cross validation (step 5 of the kriging wizard) the errors differ compared with the results I get when using the same model and same location but extracting using the GA Layer to points.

Regards,

Simon

When performing crossvalidation, the point is hidden from the calculation, so it is displaying the prediction and standard error using all of the remaining points (it does this for each point).  GA Layer To Points instead calculates the prediction and standard error using all of the points.

Since GA Layer To Points has information that crossvalidation doesn't have (the actual measured value at the location), you should expect to see smaller standard errors from GA Layer To Points.
