Removing Feature Layer on Portal

Hello.   I removed a Feature Layer from our internal Portal and I had assumed that if the Feature Layer was being used within a Map, also created on our internal Portal, that a message would display to warn me before it deleted.  There was no warning message despite it being used within a Map.  Is this correct, or is there a setting that needs changing?  Thanks.

I do not believe that such a setting exists but I may be wrong. You may have to use the Delete Protection setting on the item details for the Feature Layer to prevent that from happening to feature layers that you deem important. That's what I try to do. If you do find a separate setting, I'd be glad to know as well.
