Image Analysis Window - is there an equivalent function for Focal Statistics 'Minimum'?

Hello everyone, a quick question regarding the functions available within the ArcMap Image Analysis window (10.5.1 for reference).

Is there a function that will replicate what I could achieve using the Focal Statistics tool with 'Minimum'? Effectively I would like to sample across a singleband image in a 11 x 11 neighbourhood and select the minimum value.

I've had a look at the 'Convolution' function and this is sort of what I'm looking for, but not quite.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

assume you use ArcMap?
Have you had a look at:
https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/data/imagery/focal-statistics-function.htm

https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/manage-data/raster-and-images/statistics-function.htm

(sorry, cant check, dont have Map installed anymore)

In ArcGIS Pro the answer would be really straight forward: As a raster function in Pro (Spatial Analyst required)

Hi Guenter Doerffel‌ and thanks for the quick response.

I came across exactly that function in Pro over the weekend when I was looking at options for what I needed. Unfortunately the user base I am designing this process for are all still on ArcMap 10.5.1 so I’m a little hamstrung.

If I can’t find anything off the shelf, I may have to look at a small custom Python function to do what I need.

Thanks

Anthony
