Is there a way to embed an ArcGIS Online map on a page in SharePoint without making it publicly available?

We have an organizational account and would like employees that will be not altering maps to view maps that we created on SharePoint page that only they have access to. There is sensitive information that cannot be shared externally so the map cannot be made public; we would only like the map to be viewable to a group under our organizational account. There are other employees who have access to SharePoint that we would really like to able to view the map, be able to zoom in and out, and turn layers on and off; they do not need any other functionality. Is that possible? Thank you.

Hi Jennifer,

Your ArcGIS Online Web Map does not need to be public to add it to ArcGIS Maps for Sharepoint. When you sign into the web part you will have access to the layers and maps in your organization > Add data from ArcGIS—ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint | ArcGIS .

Furthermore, if you have Sharepoint users who you would like to see the web part but do not have ArcGIS Online accounts they can view the web part as a Guest. Guests have limited access to the map>  View maps in guest mode—ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint | ArcGIS &Configure ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint—ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint | ArcGIS  .

I hope this helps!

What about when you are embedding an APP not in relation to a SharePoint List?  Thank you.

hi @KendraStraub1 @HeidiClark I have the same question as you - did you ever get to the bottom of this?
