im new btw, im using the runtime sdk of esri.arcgis using the WPF form. i got error 80070057 relating to directx 

specs of my laptop is

wind 7 64bit

nvidia 610m 2gb

i7-3610qm

12gb ram.

directx11 

i dont know what happened

You need to provide more details for anyone to offer a proper suggestion\solution:

• When are you encountering the error?
• What workflow leads to that error?
• What version of ArcGIS are you working with?
• Can you share a screenshot of the error message..

Did you ever find out why this happened? I am having the same issue in arcgis earth 1.7beta.
