arcgis 10.2.2 how to create buffers around polylines without overlapping polygons?

Hi all,

I am trying to create buffer areas for a polyline file so that I can use the polygon file as area file for another program (the first step of that program is to calculate the number of points that fall within each polygon).

However, as showed in the pic I attached, the "buffer" function in Arcmap created overlapping polygons at intersection. Now many of the points near the intersection are falling within multiple polygons. I don't want to dissolve because each polygon will represent an independent street segment. I need each point to fall within the buffer of the polyline that the point is closest to. So for example, if a point near an intersection is closest to street A, then I want the point to fall only within A's buffer (but now it is falling within the buffers of both street A and street B). Does anyone have any idea of how can I do this?

Any thought will be appreciated!

Thanks
