The option to have newly added layers to a map be editable should be available in the editing options. Right now editing is defaulted to on.

Thanks. An option will be included in the final release. This will apply to manually added layers and those created by GP results.

Hi Clm42. Thanks again for your idea. As Sean mentions below the option to make newly added layers editable by default was included at the ArcGIS Pro 1.0 release. Go to the Project Tab > Options > Editing, to enable/ disable it.
