Antialiasing for map output (and on screen display) has been implemented in software for many years. Why is it that the feature is *still* not part of ArcGIS Desktop? ArcServer finally has it so why has it not been brought over to Desktop?

I propose a toggle switch in the ArcGIS Desktop software that allows users to turn AA on for both Layout and Data view (along with an options page for selecting how strong of AA you want to use). Incorporating it into map output is also strongly encouraged for exporting jpgs and tiffs of maps.
