Identifying Group Layers in Table of Contents

A common problem I have when re-setting data sources that have been changed/updated is that group layers aren't distinguishable if collapsed in the TOC.  I can tell a only if it is expanded, thus showing the layers it contains.  Some projects have several layers so it would be nice if I could immediately tell whether or not a layer is a group layer so I can go in and check the validity of the sources within it.

I realize I can put "Group" in the name so I know it's a group, but automatically italicizing it or something like that would be helpful.
