Il would be essential that ArcPad provide an accuracy (+- 'x' m) estimation, at least in the GPS Position Window.
The DOP is useful, but not sufficient.

Fully agreed, the average every day user doesn't understand these other terms, and explaining them usually makes ones head explode.
I don't want to make peoples heads explode.
How about instead we use something like Labs2801 here mentions, and that everyone can easily understand? There's room for it on the bar at the bottom.
Or do we need a 3rd party app for this too?

That would be good. Personally, what I'd like to see is the addition of one or more check boxs that's part of the QuickProject that will automatically add fairly standard GPS measurements (PDOP, HDOP, X, Y, Satellites, CEP, etc) as attributes to the layer that's being created.
