    ArcGIS 10.x   users will want to be able to record their desktop and mouse clicks as a video file (.mpg or .avi) that can be viewed with standard media players such as Windows Media Player, Quicktime, etc.

    This can also be used to capture the rotation of the ArcGlobe Map Viewer rotation as well as zooming to bookmarks and special locations.

    This could also be very useful for Powerpoint and PREZI  presentations;

    Finally...this ability to record desktop as a video file could also be useful to provide some informal training and informal documentation of processes used to perform certain geospatial tasks.

    An extension of the ability to record desktop as a video file image....might be to further enhance to allow users to record function macros that might even generate models or python scripts of the gis functions performed through the GUI interfaces.   This would allow other users to recreate exactly those functions performed by the first analyst.

    The first step, however, would be to simply allow users to record their desktop, mouse-clicks, zooms, pans, and so forth as a .mpg or .avi video file that other analysts could watch / review to observe techniques, methods, and results.
