I think it'd be nice to have the ability to make labels transparent like a feature class. Currently, if I want to have a label be transparent, I have to create an annotation feature class and then make that transparent.
This is possible in ArcGIS Pro. Set the color of your label to be transparent. Color—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS for Desktop
I looked for setting label transparency in Arcgis Desktop Advanced and cannot find a way to change it using the instructions from the link. Do you have specific instructions for Desktop on how to do this?
This is only available in ArcGIS Pro, not Desktop.
As David Watkins noted a while back, this is possible in ArcGIS Pro.
Are there some details you could share?
I have Pro 2.01 and can make the features transparent, but do not see where to make the labels transparent.
I found the text transparency in the Text Color/Color Editor/Transparency. What is not transparent is the label marker symbol.
